I actually would not have even noticed that this did not go through had it
not been for Joern mentioning that the ANN list was getting nuked. So,
without further ado, here is the original message in all its glory ;-)

This is to announce the long-awaited bugfix release of the SWH LADSPA
plugins package.
http://plugin.org.uk/releases/0.4.15/
Major changes:
Fast Lookahead Limiter - fix an audible buf that caused the
limiter to "pump" when it shouldn't. This plugin is used by Jamin,
so all Jamin users should upgrade. Many thanks are due to Sampo
Savolainen for identifying the problem and working out the fix.
All IIR filters - denomral fixes from Tim Blechmann.
SVF filter - possible denormal improvements.
Crossover distortion - added patch from Tim Blechmann that fixes
a NaN-related bug.
Build system - patch from Anand Kumria to fix build options on
x86_64 and popwerpc64
Now includes that code that should let some of the plugins be
built on Windows. OSX building is possible with some hacking to
the auto* scripts.
Hopefully this will be the last LADSPA flavoured release of these plugins
as they are now nearly all working in LV2. I will be concentrating any
further improvments on the LV2 versions, and only backporting major
bugfixes.

Hello all,
64 Studio is developing a collection of native software for digital
content creation on x86_64 hardware (that's AMD's 64-bit CPUs and
Intel's EM64T chips). It's based on the pure 64 port of Debian
GNU/Linux, but with a specialised package selection and lots of other
customisations.
A bugfix release of 64 Studio is now available for download. Version
0.9.1 is the second beta release, with the following significant fixes
since 0.9.0:
* AMD64 install image size reduced to fit on CD-R (a DVD burner is no
longer required to make install discs)
* Alternative i386 'Old Skool' edition now available - works on
everything from a Via C3 processor upwards, just more slowly :-) If you
are using a 32-bit machine, 256MB RAM is a practical minimum, 512MB or
more is better.
* The snd_seq module now loads automatically at boot time by default
As always, please let us know about any bugs you find (or feature
requests) on the 64studio-devel mailing list:
http://lists.64studio.com/mailman/listinfo/64studio-devel
Cheers!
Daniel
On behalf of the Rivendell development team, I'm pleased to announce the
immediate release of Rivendell v0.9.70. Rivendell is a full-featured radio
automation system targeted for use in professional broadcast environments. It
is available under the GNU General Public License. From the NEWS file:
*** snip snip ***
Changes:
PAM Authentication Module. Allows the Rivendell user/group
assignment to be dynamically managed by PAM-based login systems.
Play-While-Recording/Play-While-Importing Capability. It is now
possible to update cut audio content even while the selfsame cut is
playing out in RDAirPlay. (This capability also requires that
the libradio and librhpi packages be upgraded to the indicated
versions in order to function properly).
BugFixes, especially concerning voicetracking, RDLogManager log
generation and automated downloads in RDCatch. See the ChangeLog
for details.
Library Versions:
This version requires that, at a minimum, libradio-0.97.2 and
librhpi-0.94.7 be installed. If installing from RPM, the version of
the currently installed libraries can be determined by doing:
rpm -q libradio
rpm -q librhpi
Database Update:
As always, be sure to run RDAdmin immediately after
upgrading to allow any necessary changes to the database schema to
be applied.

can be found at:

Cheers!

64 Studio 0.9.0 'Toe Rag' release notes
64 Studio is developing a collection of native free software for digital
content creation on x86_64 hardware (that's AMD's 64-bit CPUs and
Intel's EM64T chips). It's based on the pure 64 port of Debian
GNU/Linux, but with a specialised package selection and lots of other
customisations.
You can now download a 709MB DVD-R image for version 0.9.0 beta. This
will install Debian testing with X.org 7.0, the Gnome 2.14 desktop,
Linux kernel 2.6.17 with real-time pre-emption patches and a selection
of creative applications, covering audio and music, 2D and 3D graphics,
and publishing for the web and print. It also includes the internet and
office tools that a creative user is likely to need for their daily work.
Main download site:
ftp://download.64studio.com/
US mirror:
http://download.linuxaudio.org/64studio/
The 709MB .iso image can be burned to DVD-R using the Nautilus DVD
burner in earlier alpha releases of 64 Studio (right click on the image
file after downloading it).
For more details on the project, please visit: http://64studio.com/
Bug reports and suggestions are very welcome - please post them to the
64studio-devel mailing list:
http://lists.64studio.com/mailman/listinfo/64studio-devel
Known serious bugs in this release:
* The snd_seq module is not loaded automatically
(this causes errors with MIDI applications until the module is loaded
manually)
* Gnome-cups-add printer applet does not work properly
* After install, Synaptic will produce an error message until apt-get
update is run
Enjoy!
Hi laa-folk,
Announcing the release of sfront 0.91 7/30/06, available
for download from:
http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~lazzaro/sa/sfman/user/install/
index.html#download
Here is the change log:
[1] Bug fix: sfront now defaults
to writing 16-bit WAV and AIFF
files, and the command-line flags
for specifying 16-bit WAV and AIFF
files now work correctly (thanks
to Francois Pinot).
[2] Bug fixes in the documentation
and implementation of the custom
control driver API (thanks to
Francois Pinot).
For those of you unfamiliar with sfront, here's a short bio:
Sfront compiles MPEG 4 Structured Audio (MP4-SA) bitstreams into
efficient C programs that generate audio when executed. MP4-SA is a
standard for normative algorithmic sound, that combines an audio
signal processing language (SAOL) with score languages (SASL, and the
legacy MIDI File Format). Under Linux and Mac OS X, sfront supports
real-time, low-latency audio input/output, local MIDI input from
soundcards, and networked MIDI input using RTP and SIP. A SIP server
hosted on the Berkeley campus manages sessions. The documentation
includes a book about SAOL programming.

(Sorry, I have temporarily lost access to both my previously used upload
directories)
das_watchdog
*************************************************************************
Whenever a program locks up the machine, das_watchdog will temporarily
sets all realtime process to non-realtime for 8 seconds. You will get an
xmessage window up on the screen whenever that happens.
Changes 0.2.3->0.2.4
--------------------
*Test if the xmessage program found during the make process is a valid
executable. If not, search the $PATH instead. This should fix it for
Gentoo when the pro-audio overlay is updated to at least this version.
*Various modifications for the High Res Timer, which should be used
instead of setting the timer interrupt process to SCHED_FIFO/99.
jack_capture
*************************************************************************
jack_capture is a small program to capture whatever sound is going out to
your speakers into a file without having to patch jack connections, fiddle
around with fileformats, or set options on the argument line.
This is the program I always wanted to have for jack, but no
one made. So here it is.
Changes 0.3.1 -> 0.3.7:
-----------------------
*Fixed potentional buffer underrun error.
*Fixed potentional ringbuffer size allocation miscalculation.
*Better way to set leading zeros in filename. Thanks to Melanie.
*Better underrun handling. Thanks to Dmitry Baikov.
*Added support for jack buffer size change.
*Removed some unnecessary code and comments
*Beautified code a bit.
*Fixed a bug in the reconnection code.
*Beautified code a lot.
*Changed bufsize argument to accept seconds instead of frames. Default
buffer size is 60 seconds.
*Improved documentation and help option.
*Beautified source a bit.
*Fixed bug in ringbuffer size allocation.
*Fixed so that more than one instance of jack_capture can run at once.
