Hi there.
I'm learning about set up my own audio-system.
I'm using demudi's kernel 2.6.13-1-multimedia over an installation
of Debian etch/sid untill I learn more about compile my own.
Till now I've solved some problems I found compiling some apps and
everything seems to work not so bad.
I have two issues with qjackctl/jackd that don't know how to resolve.
1.-Qjackctl doesn't save the configuration changes.The Setup/misc/save
tab option is set to . jackdrc.
$ cat .jackdrc
/usr/bin/jackd -R -dalsa -dhw:0 -r44100 -p512 -n2
But qjackctl say:
/usr/bin/jackd -R -dalsa -dhw:0 -r48000 -p256 -n2 everytime I launch.
2.- I use band in a box with wine.In demudi I found the way to make it
sound using midi through port conected to qsynth via jackd,but don't
know what to do to get this port showed at the connect/midi tab of my
own compiled qjackctl- 0.2.18.I have compiled jackit-0.100.0 also.

I have installed some of thac's audio rmps and current multimedia under
pclos and am having problems giving non-root users realtime
permissions.
Have so far tried:
rmmod capability
modprobe realtime any=1 mlock=1
....
rmmod capability
rmmod commoncap
modprobe realtime any=1 gid=500
Where my user is member of group 500.
Still get cannot connect to jack server return from qjackctl unless
root.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated:-)

I think, we both are the only ones, who use this card... and try to configure
that card.
Further, I'm not sure, if the card is full supported from alsa. maybe we both
can figure that out. My expierence is that playing is fine on the terratec.
First, you should try aplay -I wavefile, to specify, if it is possible to
select one channel.

My insight into the mixer controls are, that there are 8 mono channels. (H/W 0
- 7 ) and not 4 stereo channels . this can seen with
soundroom@funnjoy:~$ amixer scontrols

why dont you use jack. this is more easy and you can connect it by hand.

Thanks for all the help so far!
I've downloaded myself a nice-sounding drumkit soundfont, and have it
loaded by fluidsynth (using qsynth).
I played with the settings in Rosegarden, by clicking my right mouse
button on the appropriate MIDI track name. I can now hear all the
samples when I click my left mouse button on the notes at the left of
the notation editor.
However, when I throw a few notes together and press 'play', I only hear
the note(s) which falls directly under the playhead at the moment 'play'
is pressed.
Rosegarden seems to be sending the right MIDI notes somewhere - the
little indicator flashes away just as I would expect. Correspondingly,
the indicator in qsynth only flashes once, as the first beat is played.
Have I configured something incorrectly, or is this a bug? Please let me
know if more (or clearer) information would help.
I did have this working some months previously - although I was never
confident that I understood fully which MIDI output to pick in
Rosegarden (especially when I had more than one instance of fluidsynth).

Hi all,
I wondered if anyone could help me. I'm having problems starting JACK
from Qjackctl. I'm running a current PlanetCCRMA FC3 setup, and my
soundcard is an RME DIGI9636.
I have appended the output which I get in Qjackctl's "messages". Does
anyone have any ideas?

Hello all,
I am still trying to get rt5 built...
Now my problem is that when I boot the rt kernel it all looks good - I
get to the screen with the Fedora booting progress bar - but when the
kernel tries to remount root in read/write mode the machine freezes.
I am using the default config file for Fedora Core 2.6.13-1.1526_FC4
except I changed preempt to volentary, processor Hz to 1000, processor
type to Athlon64, and threaded hard and soft IRQ's. i may have forgotten
something that I changed but can you think of a reason that the kernel
would freeze when trying to remount the root device? It seems odd
becasue if it can mount the device to load the kernel then why can't it
remount that same device?
Thanks for the help! (After I get the sweet kernel working I have tr
rebuild the cool ati-fglrx module that complains about spinlocking.
