Hi now to all !
Been a while since I put some music up here,
Just started recording my new album (using Ardour, qjackctl et al.).
Ill be documenting the ups/downs/blunders on my website, and putting
mixes up at the end of each recording session.....that's the plan,
anyway :-)
So, if anybody's interested, you can pop over to www.conorotuama.com
for a listen !!
Here's a link to a rough mix of what I got up to today:
http://conorotuama.com/oggs/demos/all_i_summon_1.ogg
Article here:
http://conorotuama.com/recording-day1/
Also, a while back I recorded a demo of The Undertones' song, "Teenage
Kicks", for a competition over here in Ireland, and here it is with
all its rough edges intact !
http://conorotuama.com/oggs/teenage_kicks/teenage_kicks_final_mix_edited.ogg
(the e-bow guitars are a little too much like the ones in one of my
other songs.....hehe)
All recording done in Linux !
Thanks to all the devs and users,
Conor.
(I won't bug the list for another 6 months....!)

Hi,
Does anybody happen to have written any kind of lyrics I could use for
composing a song?
I never felt like writing lyrics..but I would like to try composing a song
based on lyrics..
so..any guy there?
Thanks.
Julien.
Hello,
I'm a visually impaired music teacher looking for an accessible MIDI
sequencer. Which sequencers for Linux work good with Orca screenreader?
Is there a MIDI sequencer completely usable without mouse?

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone here has any good experiences to share
about hardware music players that can link up with Internet radio
stations, song streaming sites like Pandora, as well as home file
servers?
There's one popular one that I cannot remember the name of. I found
the Roku which looks interesting but it doesn't play many formats,
most especially ogg.
I'm looking for something for a present.
Reply on or off list as you feel appropriate.
Thanks in advance,
Mark

CPU is fine here, but I still managed to find a small crash :-)
While qjackctl is minimized to system tray and jack running, right
click on the icon, switch to another preset. The usual message tells
you you'll need to restart jackd. Click OK and qjackctl is gone. No
problems when the may window is show. Would you need a backtrace of
this one ?
And while I'm at it, a little feature idea (if you get a chance). A
"minimize to system try on startup" option would be a very nice
addition :-D
Cheers,

Hi,
A fresh new release from the FreeBoB project is available. It is only a
maintenance release. It fixes a few bugs which were reported. If you
don't have problems with the your current version of libfreebob, there
is no reason to update to this one.
Available through the SourceForge release system at:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=117802
Have fun recording!

PS: Expect FFADO soon...

Give me a week or so to finish classes and I will give it a go. I am
kind of limited in what I can do because of lack of experience on linux,
but I will see what I can do. I am sure it will be a good learning
experience. Where do I go to work on this though. I lost track of the
progress of this and the sheer amount of emails on the subject make it
hard to find the one(s) that tell me how to participate.
Greg.
