Yay, I have my Core 2 Duo installed and running. And building apps.
But, not JACE, yet:
....
as -o mac_sse.o mac_sse.s
mac_sse.s: Assembler messages:
mac_sse.s:29: Error: suffix or operands invalid for `push'
mac_sse.s:31: Error: suffix or operands invalid for `push'
mac_sse.s:32: Error: suffix or operands invalid for `push'
Ah, well, duh, the assembler ain't gonna like 32-bit operands too well. OK. Hmm.
I tried commenting out CPPFLAGS+= -march=pentium4 in the makefile, and got this instead:
g++ -O3 -Wall -DVERSION=\"0.0.4\" -DPREFIX=\"/usr/local\" -march=pentium4 -c -o main.o main.cc
main.cc:1: error: CPU you selected does not support x86-64 instruction set
Is there an incantation that will work on this arch? Or a 64-bit version of the asm code somwhere?
I've written some Atmel RISC asm and read some ARM RISC asm, but Intel asm-- especially the new 64-bit stuff-- is a mystery to me.

Hello,
We are at the design phase of a new embedded product based on a PowerPC
and Linux.
The device should have an audio output and an audio input, if possible
with a HW compression (MP3) and if possible with an USB interface.
Is there an audio chip with these spec supported (with a working driver)
by Linux?
Thanks for your help,
Greg

Yes, Oriental was composed in half an hour some days ago. I still did
not give a lot of attention to it. But sound quality is better that in
other pieces I think.

I agree :-)

Here is the point! In fact, I just like to play, to express myself, my
daily feelings. It is very hard for me to actually start really
working on some tracks. Putting them online is the first step towards
that process. I want them to be better, continued, finalized..but I
cannot find the motivation! This is sad ! haha. It is kind of boring
to work on an existing song. But I have to do that.
How do YOU work?
I think I need a kind of project to motivate me. Like somebody wants
me to compose a track for a movie or event..That way, I would know I
have to do it well..hoping this would not affect my
imagination..Probably I'll propose my 'services' in art schools..
Any good idea to progress and make work?
aaaa, a point is that I don't really like bands..in fact I like to
play in bands but I can't manage to perform well with other
people..because of the kind of music I think..

I've tried duplicating this issue but haven't been able to do that.
Can you figure out what in that session causes the plugin to be quiet?
Maybe you could whip up a session for the developers which exhibits this
issue?

It is Zyn..all instruments are virtual except a djembe for rythm in
"Tribal and the rythm" and "Bon boyage"
Hi everyone,
I'm proud to announce the release of :
Tapeutape 0.0.5:
better gui, play modes, command-line menu, lash support and bug fixes
(thanks Nedko)
Tapeutape is a midi-controlled virtual sampler. It is highly
configurable, lets you create instruments/kits/setups and is designed for
live performance. It works on Gnu/Linux with the jack sound server.
There's a command-line and a gui version.
It can be found at http://www.hitmuri.com/Tapeutape
An example of what can be done with it :
http://www.hitmuri.com/Tapeutape/demo_tapeutape.ogg
Tranches 0.0.5:
reverse mode, usable gui , command-line menu, bug fixes
Tranches is a midi-controlled multi-(inputs|outputs) live beat
repeat|redirect tool for the jack sound server on Gnu/Linux !!! There's
a command-line and a gui version.

Flo

not that I know of. but if FPGA's are an option it could be built
easily ;)
USB-Audio is a very distinct standard and merging it with raw mp3/ogg
data i/o is IMHO not a good idea!
There are drivers and software for mp3-decoder hard/firm-ware (eg
ipodlinux.org ) - shared/locked memory is an issue on embedded devices,
and USB makes this even worse..!
I think the cheapest solution is to just /connect/ the
mp3-de/encoder/player output to a general purpose dsp & mixer chipset
and have them be two separate [usb] devices..

I'm trying ot clean up a WAV file that has a low sounding rumble, motor-like
sound, sort of up and down. It's lower than the bass line. I'm finding this
hard to describe in words. I'm using the Gnome Wave Cleaner and its got
a notch filter but I don't know what frequency to set it for. I do know people
hear from about 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, on a good day, so would maybe 50 Hz
to 100 Hz would be a good start?
