Hi everyone,
I am humbly proud to announce that yet another one of my linux-audio
`cutie-suite` application has bitten the Qt4 dust.
Yes, it's time for QjackCtl 0.3.0 (unstable-qt4) to be released, fresh
from the CVS oven (hmmm... this makes it the second oxymoron on one
post; gotta fix this :)
Although the ChageLog doesn't go into many details, there were many
subtle bugs fixed but plenty as more were blindly introduced, as always.
I count on your eyeballs to make them shallow ;)
So it was:
- Qt4 migration was complete. Care must be taken with this new
configuration file and location: this release starts a new one from
scratch and won't reuse any of the previous existing ones, although cut
and paste might help if you know what you're doing :)
- On a last-minute addition, the "firewire" audio backend driver option
has been also included, supporting the ffado.org project which is
evolving where "freebob" is leaving (thanks to Klaus Zimmermann for this
one).
The usual place where the new source tarball can be grabbed:
http://qjackctl.sourceforge.net/http://sourceforge.net/projects/qjackctl
Cheers && Enjoy,

Howdy,
I just posted a new video showing the current status of some distance
sensors I've been working on this summer. Now that most of the
technical glitches are dealt with, I just need to mount them up on my
bass to start the live processing.

Although the laptop itself is off-screen, you can hear it:
http://www.restivo.org/blog/archives/169
The lower-manual controller is an M-Audio Axiom 49. The upper-manual controller is a no-name cheap-ass MIDI controller with two broken keys which I had to Krazy Glue into place the morning of the show. The bass is patched into the upper manual; Rhodes on the lower one.
The bass and keyboard sounds are both coming out of fluidsynth, on an ASUS Core 2 Duo laptop, into an M-Audio FastTrack Pro USB interface, with one channel going into a Roland KC-150 keyboard amp and the other into a bass amp. The Rhodes is going through several LADSPA plugins on its way out to the amp. The bass is dry. On this night I was borrowing the bass amp from the headline band, and it wasn't exactly the sound I usually like to get.
Alas, the big Tux logo on the laptop was not visible because it was hidden by the bar railing in front of the stage. I'm finding I like to place the laptop facing against walls, pillars, railings, and other solid objects, so that it is less likely to be knocked over.
Many, many thanks to everyone on this list who helped me get my setup, um, set up. This stuff works great, sounds great, and, best of all, is Free-as-in-Freedom.
At some point I will post videos of a different project I've also been working with-- a funk/soul band which makes heavy use of the AZR3 Hammond B3 emulator LV2 plugin running in Elven.
Again, thanks to everyone here for helping me over the past 6 months in getting all this stuff squared away.

dominique, very much thanks for the new rc!
as i see, alsaplayer does not starts automatically anymore - really good.
listening to some music right now!
cheers,

hi rui, hallo list.
for long time i am missing some features in qjack, since rui is now
working on a new version it is perhaps the right time to make a feature
request.
it would be very useful, if at least the connection window would provide
some keyboard-shortcuts.
something like:
- tab: changing between input/output column
- key down/up: scrolling to the client (this we already have!)
- space: showing all client in/outs (like clicking at the '+' in the
front of the clients name now - by example alsaplayer-out1/out2..)
- alt+m: somehow marking the output we want to connect
- tab: changing to the input column
.... choosing the input and hitting let's say 'enter', so the clients
got connected.
i do not have any idea if this is possible to implement but i really
prefer using the keys instead of the mouse.
perhaps rui can say sth. about this idea, but i also would like to get
some feedback from the list, about what the other users think about this
idea.
cheers,
doc
Hello,
I am trying to use the controllers on my Trigger Finger to manipulate
effects. Is there a way to assign a particular MIDI controller to the
effects knobs in hydrogen? How about jack-rack? I haven't figured it out
on my own and google searches have been fruitless.
Thanks for advice,
Daniel Garmendia

entender.
¿Qué otros beneficios ven?

Could it be that my burner has died? Or are all my cds crap (hardly...)?
This post motivated me to try out cdrdao:

But how do I burn a directory of .wav to cd? Seems I need a cue-file,
how do I generate that?
