Sorry for crossposting Hello, since i can't find a way to search the LAU archive and the knowledge that the soundcard list is outdated, this will be my prefered way to asked the oracle ;=) I''m looking for a cheap (50 ~ 100 euros) soundcard with: 6 - 8 outputs 1 - 2 inputs 24bit 48 kHz, alsa usable any suggestions thanks c~

I'm starting to think I might be out of luck... Thanks again for the help though, this has all been very educational.

Live Performance Distro Guide

Hi guys, I was wondering if there was an in depth guide about linux distrobutions optimized for live music performance. So far, I haven't found much comparative info. I'm just looking for a good solution to use my laptop live for signal processing and use Max/MSP with a midi foot controller. The thing I'm worried about is my laptop's performance, so I'm avoiding bloated distros. I'll only be using this for live stuff, so I don't need any extra stuff. Thanks -Chris

Drum patterns

Hello everybody, I don't know if it's the place to ask such a question as it is not really linux related , but you guys are nice and can give good advices. I'm looking for a website / forum where I could learn the basic drum patterns of modern music. I'm no drummer, but I'd like to start playing around with Hydrogen. I can reproduce patterns from rock bands like AC/DC where the drum lines are pretty straightforward. It can be pretty difficult for other kind of music. And to be honest, knowing some basic rhythms would help me to spot them in the music I like. Thank you for any advice ! Charles
