Hi list,
Since update to Debian 6.0.1, everything from the stable repos, the usb
midi kbd don't work anymore. Have search the web and here, but can't
find anything. It seems that the kbd is seen by the machine, but not in
QJack. Have tried with and without the midisport-firmware and it's the
same. dmesg says it has a problem with snd_usb_audio, but my limit is
just here, before the modules and kernel stuff...
Any help really appreciate !
some console outputs :

Hi all,
since Ubuntu 10.10 the rt kernel it's not in the repos. Anyway it appears
you can still work in rt mode.
Does anybody know what happened and eventually what's the difference between
the rt kernel and the one provided in this distro?
I'm a bit confused about this.
Cheers

Btw. I posted the first 'recommendation' regarding to a member of the
band Sky, who was member of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
I don't know your 'recommendation', but IMO the German Rundfunk is one
of the best schools for audio engineering on this planet :), so I
suspect at least regarding to the engineering, this recording could be
good. Well, I don't like Lenny as a director for music or as a composer
just my taste), but anyway, he's a gifted guy, especially a gifted
businessman :( and teacher for music :). Unfortunately his very good
introductions to music aren't played very often by the German
Rundfunk :(.
OT: OTOH the German Rundfunk is wasting money of GEZ-mafia 'customers'
by using the most expensive microphones even to record newsreaders and
even while they already used Neumann for this, they additionally bought
Brauner's most expensive mic for this usage. I'm not a 'customer' of the
GEZ-mafia anymore. But I'm still an enemy of the Landesrundfunkanstalt,
regarding to other very German issues.
Btw. the German Rundfunk cancel most, perhaps all airplay of avant-garde
music etc., but GEZ-mafia 'customers' are forced to pay for heavy
rotation chart mainstream. 10 times a day the same Lady Gaga song etc..

Correct, if you run uname -a you'll see that there's no PREEMPT for the
output. I'm using Debian testing + a little bit of Debian stable, but
build the 2.6.39 myself by using the config of a self build
2.6.33.9-rt31.
Members of this list explained the reason why the default Debian kernel
isn't PREEMPT-rt-emulating.
If needed I can send you a script to build the kernel.

Sorry, but every time I see something like this I'm reminded of the

Hi,
There was that announcement of
'We're just putting the finishing touches to OOM2, and will release
shortly, as a tarball for general use.
http://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=7043
But then the only response on questions about when the release will
really happens they stay rather vague with answers like 'soon' or 'join
IRC we might able to help you with that'.
Does anyone uses oomidi 2 and / or can tell us what to expect really
when it comes to an stable release or not and if yes, when?
Thanks in advance,

Hi Rui :)
I used the config from the self-build kernel 2.6.33.9-rt31 and run
oldconfig only to configure 2.6.39. I didn't make music until now using
this kernel. Yes, I wish to "emulate" the PREEMPT_RT, since common
PREEMPT only kernels never did, what I needed.
What do I need to set?
$ cat config-2.6.39.1 | grep PREEMPT
CONFIG_TREE_PREEMPT_RCU=y
CONFIG_PREEMPT_RCU=y
CONFIG_PREEMPT_NOTIFIERS=y
# CONFIG_PREEMPT_NONE is not set
# CONFIG_PREEMPT_VOLUNTARY is not set
CONFIG_PREEMPT=y
IIUC this is correct?!
Cheers!

Hello Everyone!
This sunday I'm going to Amsterdam and I have a free companion. So anyone
interested? Leaving Hamm at 9:30, Oberhausen at 11:30 and on the way back
Amsterdam at 14:30. The first two days I'll meet with a friend, but the last
day, he'll be going early. So one might do something together.
I've seen acceptable youth hostels near the central station, musems and
everything else ne might want to see, for about 23 EUR per night.
Warm regards
Julien
