Get a second hand printer with cartridges that don't include the
nozzles.
The printer I'm using currently has cartridges with the nozzles
included, but I found a good imitation with good ink for my HP DeskJet
600. It's a printer without colour and with low quality, but Gutenprint
improves the quality significantly.
I've got a ribbon printer, unfortunately I can't get ribbons anymore.
For many usages this ribbon printer would be my first choice. Not only
because of the less costs, I'm also missing listing paper for some
usages and this printer could use 'normal' paper and listing paper.
This ink cartridge issue is caused by criminal companies, we should burn
their factories down and lynch the management and marketing.
There are a lot of replies to your request, I don't read them, perhaps
somebody mentioned a printer that has got it's own nozzles?

I don't have got that file for my Debian. I'm in a hurry now, I'll read
the following LAU Digest and if needed I'll reply to this topic within
the next days. If your 3.1GHz CPU did run with 0.8GHz, freq scaling
already was running.
I have a friend who plays some rather tasty acoustic guitar as well as tin
whistle, and we quite often work together on tunes especially since I've been
developing my electric guitar skills.
Usually, on hearing a melody I've come up with, James will send me a bunch of
files and invite me to mix and match then as I please - sometimes of course
it's the other way round!
On this particular occasion I started out with just the 'chorus' melody, then
bit by bit we added to it until we ended up with the tune linked below.
In total we have:
2x Acoustic guitar, bouzouki and whistle by James.
Synths, lead and final mix by me.

Say you have a poem and I have a tune.
Exchange them and we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.
QasMixer version 0.14.0 is now available.
QasMixer is an ALSA mixer with a customized Qt GUI.
Changes:
* Cairo painting replaced with native Qt painting
* Reduced flicker on a mixer change

I have a simple little usb-thingy that I want to record sound from. It
shows up just fine in audacity, but when I press record with it set as
the input device, audacity freezes completely, and I have to kill it.
I've tried ecasound and qarecord, but I couldn't really make any of
them work. Anyone have any experience with this? Should I just try an
older version of audacity? Just looking for some hints before I start
the whole downgrading process (the older, "stable", version of
audacity comes with the thingy, so that's supposed to work).

Rosegarden is
definitely the best sequencer I ever used. But I have some problems
with it as notation editor. I have read some tutorials in
Rosegarden's official site but have not solved my problem.
I want to keep the
music I write in Rosegarden as pdf scores also so that it may be
readable ad easier to play on real instruments. However most of the
time exporting as Lilypond files or printing (wich seems to use the
same process of Lilypond) brings a lot of errors.
I did small notations
experiments using scores with few measures nd it was ok. Everything
was right. But if I type a larger work such as a sonata or a
symphony, using articulation symbols, stem directions and so on I
always get errors in the Lilypond file. Most of the errors on
Lilypond output are related to tenuto or stem up / stem down
properties, but I need these settings and they are correctly
displayed on small scores (for example those that I wrote as test
files with one staff and eight meaures) but not in larger works.
I use currently the most recent version of Rosegarden, that is, 11.06. At every update they say to have improved Lilypond export but it still doesn't seem to work right.
What do I do to have
Rosegarden music printed correctly?

Hello, I'm just getting started with creating electronic music in Linux and
I'm looking for a good sampler. Specifically, I'm looking for a sampler
that will allow me to assign a sample to multiple keys AND perform
pitch-scaling without changing the duration of the sample. I've tried
Specimen and Renoise (both great pieces of software) but neither seems to
automatically stretch/compress the duration of the sample to compensate for
the pitch shift. I look forward to hearing your suggestions.
Thanks!
Hello everyone!
Sorry for being so OT (again). I had to recompile my own kernel and now
cpufreqd doesn't work. I wonder what I need to enable in the kernel to have
cpufreqd work? What should be the standard cpu frequency scheduler? Which
other schedulers can or must be there? Can I put them into the kernel or will
they have to be modules?
My current kernel config can be found as:

Thanks for reading so far and thanks in advance even more for thinking about
it.
Kind regards
Julien
