Hi there,
On my T480s on Archlinux I often have issues with my USB microphone (h1 handy recorder):
Sep 14 19:00:57 t480s kernel: retire_capture_urb: 2477 callbacks suppressed
Sep 14 19:01:02 t480s kernel: retire_capture_urb: 2480 callbacks suppressed
Sep 14 19:01:07 t480s kernel: retire_capture_urb: 2479 callbacks suppressed
Resulting in just noise / garbage when recording with an ffmpeg/pulseaudio based script: https://github.com/kaihendry/recordmydesktop2.0/blob/master/x11capturehttps://s.natalian.org/2018-09-14/noise.mp4
It's difficult to reproduce, but I have managed to experience the issue again and again on stable kernels, e.g.
Linux t480s 4.18.6-arch1-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Sep 5 11:54:09 UTC 2018 x86_64 GNU/Linux
But not (yet) upon linux-lts 4.14.69-1 aka "LTS".
Any tips how I should proceed here? https://www.kernel.org/doc/linux/REPORTING-BUGS is a bit overwhelming.
Many thanks,
Hi all.
Next meeting at c-base is on Tuesday 2018-09-11. I'll be in the mainhall (or
depending on weather) outside from 20:30 as usual.
At the last meeting we were discussing if we should do something at the next
meeting instead of just talking, and there were some suggestions:
- Start defining a standard for communicating midi messages via OSC.
- Test out some fun audio projects in the soundlab and/or do some jamming with
Linux Audio projects·
If we're going to go down to the soundlab, I'd suggest that we collect people in
the mainhall/outside between 20:30 and 21:00 before going downstairs.
What do you say? If going down to the soundlab, I'll reserve it for us.
Cheers
/Daniel

Because publicity is the true gospel of the modern times, the true
gospel of our society of mass consumption. Even in Cuba, ordinary
peoples don't give a penny for both the Marxism or the Capitalism, but
they do want to be like us, part of the mass consumption, and that even
if it is a madness of the extreme kind that kill the planet at an
exponentially industrial rate.
Like in the publicity, almost every body want more. And more, and more.
And whoa! with internet, the pub is in HD, but it will never show you
the enslaved children in the bottom of the mines (it is more slaves on
Earth today than ever in History, and their number is growing fast),
or the global and systematic destruction of Nature to make these mines,
roads, plants, houses, infrastructures of all kinds, nor that this
industrial mass consumption society is the best way to make Nature to
return at it's mineral state. After us, the new intelligent specie will
be robots, a mineral intelligence that will reign onto a mineral world
where even the cyborgs will be extermninated.

Hi there,
does anybody know, whether the http://libremusicproduction.com/ site is
still active? The last post is from February (which just says that the
site is back online :-/) and the last tweet from December 2017. Also the
comments on the site are riddled with spam.
I tried to submit a story via the contact form on the site and the site
displayed a message that my form submission was successful but also an
error message that the message could *not* be sent. *confused*
Who's behind the site? Is there another way to contact him/her/them?

Because they are messing with the minds of people while leaving their
bodies alone. If you used poppy seed juice rather than cat videos,
you'd get stopped before becoming the highest valued company on the
planet.
Though to be fair, Coca-Cola got pretty far even before reducing the
cocaine content of their drink to trace amounts.

Because said companies are providing products/value that people are
willing to pay for. In the case of all that messenger apps, you can
trade in your privacy for cheaper connections rather than using the
regular phone services (and/or SMS).

Hey hey,
I know it's not specifically on Linux anymore, but does anyone know fi the VLC
for mobile player can play music based on folders rather than tags? I had a
look, but couldn't find anything on an idevice.
Alternatively: is there perhaps another soltuion for a portable player that
will be mounted on Linux and speak? I had a Rockbox enabled player for a
while, but it's dying and the players that are usable to me and support
Rockbox are a dying breed.
Best wishes and TIA,
Jeanette

Hey hey,
I've been trying to insert an audiofilter in mpv, through the commandline and
failed miserably. Can you help? the only thing I wished to do is reverse the
stereo channels, because my amp is actually plugged in the wrong way round and
I can't change it. From my understanding of the help I typed:
mpv --af channelmap:map="0,1,1,0":channeml_layout=2 file.wav
The channelmap can't be parsed. Whatever I do. I can get a mono output with
just one number. I also get some output with two numbers seperated by a dash
"-", but no more. I also tried just giving two comma seperated numbers, i.e.
only the new order of the input channels. I'd be grateful for a working
example. My shell is bash.
Best wishes,
Jeanette

Hi all,
I am considering a Soundcraft Notepad 12 FX [1]
as my main laptop audio interface.
Is anyone aware about its Linux compatibility
and software reliability?
Being able to do some multi track recording would be awesome.
Cheers
