hi,
i've just downloaded the cvs from the repository of 2003-04-19 and am
trying to compile for use on my desktop machine... which has the
wonderful and rather overkill combination of a sbawe, msnd-pinnacle and
usb-audio (quattro)...
i'm getting the following error on making cvs:
gcc -D__KERNEL__ -DMODULE=1 -I/usr/src/alsa/alsa-driver/include
-I/lib/modules/2.4.18-6mdk/build/include -O2
-mpreferred-stack-boundary=2 -march=i586 -DLINUX -Wall
-Wstrict-prototypes -fomit-frame-pointer -Wno-trigraphs -O2
-fno-strict-aliasing -fno-common -pipe -DALSA_BUILD
-DKBUILD_BASENAME=init -c -o init.o init.c
In file included from init.c:2:
../alsa-kernel/core/init.c:671: conflicting types for
`snd_power_wait_Rc1205744'/usr/src/alsa/alsa-driver/include/sound/core.h:187:
previous declaration of `snd_power_wait_Rc1205744'
make[1]: *** [init.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/alsa/alsa-driver/acore'
make: *** [compile] Error 1
any ideas if i've got a missing library or something?

Apologies if this question has been asked before.
I'm looking at finalizing the design for my studio, and I figure that Linux
+ Ardour is looking really good at this point. I also investigated the RME
line, and found the Multiface, which looks like exactly what I need.
So my question is, has anyone used this card with Linux, and does it work
well? Thank you for your help.

Darren Landrum
Hi folks
Maybe I haven't been looking very hard, but I am after a piece of software
that allows you to assign different events to different notes/controllers.
For example, I want to assign the sustain pedal to a note instead of being
sustain.
What software is capable of doing this, if there is any?
Thanks in advance
Luke
What should I fix - I installed libladspavst-0.1.2-3mdk.rpm but Audacity
does not show my VST plugins that exist in /home/esa/VST/
I did
export VST_PATH=/home/esa/VST

Hello,
Just wondering what the best way to convert a midi to wav is, while
preserving the sound? I use an SB live with the standard 8mg soundfont
(from creative) so whatever sounds like that would be perfect.
I was looking at Timidity, but it seems to use different sounds (AFAICT).
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Bryan
Does anyone know of either a program, plugin, or even technique, to make a
single recorded voice sound like many? They don't necessarily need to vary
in pitch I guess, just sound like many people singing.
Odd request I'm sure :)
Thanks,
Bryan
Hi all!
Does anyone know if I can rename audio-ports connected to jack? I'm running
fluidsynth and it create: fluidsynth:left, fluidsynth:right. But I would need
fluidsynth:out_1 and out_2. Is this possible with the console-tools only,
because I CAN'T use any GUI?
Thanks for any help.
Kindest regards
Julien

I'm using xinerama with two nvidia cards and I'm having a problem when
trying to play sound. When I stretch an app (like audacity) over two
screens I get all sorts of distortions. Actually whenever any sound app
is on the second screen I have problems. Like a clicking. Anyway I'm
using Debian unstable, with kernel 2.4.20 (no patches), Xfree86 4.2.1,
and alsa 0.9.2. Anyone else seen this problem?
