Apply plugin effects to a sound file using the CLI

This thread could be a watchdog thread, in which case a priority of 95 should be unproblematic. The glitches and XRUNS you see are probably due to other reasons than thread priorities. Renoise is probably doing some time consuming things in the jack thread, or is the victim of priority inversion, or waiting for a non-realtime thread doing some work.

music made with Linux+Ardour

ahoy all, first, thanks for all the great music, tools, tips and time that many of you have produced and shared in this great community, always very inspiring. i have been following these lists for some time, getting lots of help as i stumbled my way around the GNU+Linux audio world. i am happy to present my small contribution: "demonstrate (from where to Now: volume 2)" by our music group "in-giro" http://in-giro.xyz created mainly with Ardour 3 alpha/beta (thanks Carl and Paul especially for all the MIDI help!), the suite was recorded "in giro" (Italian for roughly "in motion, on the move"), in all aspects of the phrase. it is a type of abstract rock opera, with characters and recurring themes both lyrical and musical. included in the downloaded ZIP file is the libretto PDF with hand-drawn lyrics, credits and additional artwork. some help from Q mixed+mastered by long time GNU+Linux supporter Rich Wielgosz http://richwielgosz.com . currently the 'site' is a simple embed of the Bandcamp widget ( -- http://waynedpj.in-giro.xyz

Jconvolver on Raspberry Pi B / PI Zero

Hallo linux-audio list! Sorry for being off topic (and crosspost), but does someone know an active discussion group / mailing list about android audio? (There is quite a lot of progress lately, see for example [1]) 5 years ago a list was announced [2], which does not seem to be active anymore ... We just created a simple android audio editor [3] and would be very much interested into a discussion of common infrastructure like audio plugins/effects (like SAPA from Samsung) or copy/paste between audio apps. I think that would be important for the audio ecosystem on Android. realtime priority - FIFO vs Round Robin and scheduling

hi Linux audio community! i've been strugling with XRUNS and glitches on a machine using Renoise, SuperCollider and Processing. i wrote a question also on Renoise forum, but everything boils down to this: Renoise seems to be running some threads with FIFO scheduler with a priority that is _below_ that of JACK and firewire driver (correct right?), but ALSO some threads using Round Robin scheduler with VERY HIGH RT priority of 95. my question is if this is a possible cause for glitches and XRUNS? the priority of 95 is above realtime clock (RTC) and firewire irq! i wonder if Round Robin scheduler isn't somewhat less stressful for the system and FIFO threads would still have priority? Question on Active Sensing message.

Dear All, Does anybody use M-Audio Keystation 88? Does it transmit MIDI "Active Sensing" message? I have one and it does not seem to transmit "Active Sensing" at all. Do you think it is a design feature, or a technical fault of the unit?
