Hi,
I have a few questions about Session Management in an Arch Linux system.
I want to use seq24 to control hydrogen and yoshimi, which works
fine. However, when I save the session (I tried qjackctl and Non Session
Manager) and reload it the order of the ALSA MIDI ports gets mixed up. This
leads to drum patters played via yoshimi instead of hydrogen, for example.
A while ago I tried to install claudia from AUR but it depends on ladish, and
that is not available (ladish.org is down). Is ladish dead?
If someone could point me into the right direction I would highly appreciate
it.
cheers,
Hendrik

Hello all,
Just got an electric guitar. First time. Now putting on a new set of
strings.
Got a 1/4" wire and a passive direct box that's already used for a
Wavedrum. Got also a small guitar amp with an headphone out jack, as
an option. The audio card is a M-Audio 1010LT.
Can I simply take the 1/4" wire from the passive direct box and connect
it to the guitar ? I believe there's a guitar processing app out there
called something like rackarrack or such. Does this work through jackd
as in doing the audio routing using qjackctl ?
Alternatively if I want the amp's sound and processing, I can simply
use the amp's headphone out, although I'd like to try the computer
based only interface and processing.
Cheers.
Hey hey everyone,
is there a way to do it? I tried, but didnt get any sound. I suspect, that
cron doesn't use the user, who defined the task to be run?
My system is Debian Squeeze, my JACK is 0.121.3 . My scheduler is anacron
version 2.3. JACK applications normally run just fine under my user.
any hints and suggestions are welcome and appreciated! Thank you!

Hi,
Ardour 4.1-1 for Arch Linux is build with "Phone home: True", see
Help -> About -> Config.
https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/ardour/
I don't no were and how to configure "Phone home: False".
To the PKGBUILD from ABS I added --phone-home=false to "python2 waf
configure".
[rocketmouse@archlinux ardour]$ diff PKGBUILD.old PKGBUILD
8c8
< pkgrel=1
---
> pkgrel=2
33a34
> --phone-home=false \
This results in
"waf: error: --phone-home option does not take a value".
How can phone home be disabled? Is recompiling needed? Perhaps there's
also an option by the preferences I missed.
[rocketmouse@archlinux ardour]$ cat PKGBUILD.old
#[snip]
python2 waf configure --prefix=/usr \
--configdir=/etc \
--with-backends="jack,alsa" \
--libjack=weak \
--optimize \
--docs

Thank you for sharing, Atte! i thoroughly enjoyed that. It's probably a
silly question, but did you make it with Renoise and Redux? It's quite a
powerful argument!
Thank you, again!

Hi all,
as in through the hottest of summers--as southerners can't even
wait--here comes part one:
QjackCtl 0.4.0 (summer'15) is out!
though aside that everybody knows this already,
QjackCtl is a (maybe not so any more but) simple Qt [3] application
to control the JACK [2] sound server, for the Linux Audio infrastructure.

Change-log:
- Some windows fixes added (patch by Kjetil Matheussen, thanks).
- Most advanced Setup/Settings are moved into new Setup/Advanced
settings tab; limit range for the real-time priority setting, now having
6 as absolute minimum valid value (after patches by Robin Gareus, thanks).
- A new top-level widget window geometry state save and restore
sub-routine is now in effect (EXPERIMENTAL)
- Delayed geometry setup for widget windows upon startup has been
deprecated and scrapped altogether.
- Setup/settings dialog tab is going into some layout changes; also got
rid of old patchbay auto-refresh timer cruft, which was previously
hidden/disabled.
- New socket names are now automatically inferred from selected client
names while on the Patchbay widget, Socket dialog.
- Fixed for some strict tests for Qt4 vs. Qt5 configure builds.
- German (de) translation update (by Guido Scholz, thanks).
