Greetings,
I want to start working with JACK MIDI, but I'm not sure I understand
its requirements. I have a recent QJackCtl with the separate MIDI and
ALSA tabs, and I note that in Setup there's a MIDI driver selector.
Everything's fine if I leave it at None, but JACK won't start if I
select either Raw or Seq. I receive a rather cryptic message "
Unknownage with option 'X' " and that's it. JACK is version 0.103,
QJackCtl is version 0.3.2, on JAD 1.0. Please advise if other info is
needed.
Am I missing something obvious ?
Also, where can I find the sources to the aseq2jackmidi module ? (Yes,
I'm too lazy to search the LAU archives.)
Best,
dp
Truthfully, this is a editor for lilypond files.
Keep getting missing xft_... references. If this be xfont stuff, I have all
the libraries installed and the configure does not kick.
Any ideas?
Hi all,
I’m happy to announce the immediate disponibility of Freecycle 0.6.1.1alpha,
which is mainly a maintenance release.
Changelog:

when libinstpatch was disabled
* Changed the naming schema on slice export
* Solved the bugs on 64bit platforms (thanks to Jonathan Stowe)
* The source code is now GCC 4.3 friendly (thanks to Gürkan Sengün)

Hi everyone!
Does anyone have an unused sr-jv80-08 "Keyboards of the 60s and 70s)
expansion board or does anyone know where to get one relatively cheap. At the
moment ebay prices seem to high considering prices from a few weeks ago.
Unfortunitely I didn't have the money by then. :-)
Kindest regards
Julien

Hi all,
First of all, thanks for your answers concerning the firebox audio card.
I'm planning to buy a laptop for audio work. I do not care about graphics,
etc..only audio.
Is it worthy to buy a Mac Book pro? Has anyone ever worked with this
machine?
I see that a linux can be installed on it. Is this recommended? Has anyone
worked with the Mac OSX?
Can we directly install linux apps on it as it is unix-bases os? (with some
additional libs?)
Also, my concern is that it really costs a lot..in europe, 1800€ for the
basic model (15" monitor).
With that money, isn't it better to buy another great laptop?
Also, is there any problem with laptops and linux? How can I be sure linux
could installed on it..(graphic card, processor, firewire..)
Advices welcome!!
Thank you very much.

If you run KDE, you might try "kguitar". It can print out tab/score pages
though one has only tab and a fingerboard diagram for entry.
Can read musicXML.
This is old stuff, however and what I have is not very stable.

As I said, tabledit is the only thing I have used that might come close but
this is not opensource. It does run on Wine.
You might try using lilypond. There is, if one can figure out how to get to
it, tab capabilities!
Is there in linux a file with notes and Tabs which I can use with a program like noteedit or something?
