Sorry thunderbird replied privately and not the the list,
Read the answer above ( sorry julien ) :) , dual cores and sata drives
are the thing you should go for, and minimum 1 giga's of ram ( I would
point a thinkpad ).

Googling a bit there are some issue on performance while the wireless
card is in use(it get overheated) so you should do a little research
about it ( most of them have the intel 3945 and if you really need it I
would opt for a pcmcia (there are issues with different chipsets for
wireless against low latency kernels).
Again, happy starting of 2008

This JACK program is a port of the free VST plugin AZR-3. It is a
tonewheel organ with drawbars, distortion and rotating speakers. The
original was written by Rumpelrausch Täips.
The organ has three sections, two polyphonic with 9 drawbars each and
one monophonic bass section with 5 drawbars. The two polyphonic sections
respond to events on MIDI channel 1 and 2, and an optional keyboard
split function makes the bass section listen to the lower keys on
channel 1.
The three sections have separate sustain and percussion switches as well
as separate volume controls, and the two polyphonic sections have
separate vibrato settings. All three sections are mixed and sent through
the distortion effect and the rotating speakers simulator, where the
modulation wheel can be used to switch between fast and slow rotation,
and the fast and slow rotation speeds themselves can be changed
separately for the lower and upper frequencies.

I've just spotted a new contributor to LAM (http://lam.fugal.net for
anyone who doesn't know).
This guy is from Brazil, which made me wonder if there was any way of
encouraging other nationalities to come on board.
It would also be nice if there was some way if indicating that people
were taking an interest!

Hello,
JJack 0.3 has been released: http://jjack.berlios.de/
JJack is a JACK audio driver for the Java Sound API and a framework for the Java programming
language. It allows Java applications to use the JACK Audio Connection Kit.
Changes in release 0.3:
- now works as Java Sound driver for JACK, just add lib/jjack.jar to the classpath
- includes pre-compiled native libraries for i386/Linux, amd64/Linux and Mac OS
- ability to auto-load native library from local lib folder on Linux systems
- several bug-fixes and feature additions
Happy New Year 2008,

Hello list,
I have to build an audio computer running PD for an installation. Since
I am not too familiar with actual hardware issues, I would like to ask,
if there are any restrictions or aspects to kepp in mind concerning
certain processor types, motherboards, graphic cards, HDs (SATA) ...
I will use a Hammerfall HDSP 9652 and the JAD-Distribution on a
32bit-architecture
Thanks a lot and a happy New Year,
Michael

Here are several pieces I've been able to polish up nicely. There are no lyrics,
but it's fun anyway. Thoughts, compliments and critiques welcome.

Then your system is mis-configured.
Freebob works _really_ great even without RT-patched kernel both on
gentoo-amd64 and gentoo-intel32.

No its an ice1724 chipset. ALSA page here: http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php/Ice1724

Hi all,
I would like to know if the Presonus Firebox audio card (
http://www.presonus.com/firebox.html) is well supported under linux.
Is this a really good card? Do you guys have any other alternatives? I would
like the card to have a preamp on it so I can directly connect my mic.
Thanks

Cool song, but I think the sound is a bit muddy. Have you panned your
guitars as much to the left and right as possible? In case not,
I think that would help a lot.
I also ran your song through jamin:

I only have headphones right now, so its probably not very good,
but maybe you find it interesting anyway. Here's the jamin preset file:
