Anyone know of a way to extract the multichannel audio from a DVD-Audio
disc? Xine plays the multichannel files - so I assume there has to be a
way to extract them...
Hi all,
I know everybody is busy planning their trip to Berlin (I will be the
guy with a lot of beard and a bald head with a pony-tail :-) but I ask
for your comments on the following song:
http://www.bloomingdesert.de/files/files/there_is_not_much-beta-2007-03-15-…
The bandleader says he needs to rerecord his voice but I doubt that
that will improve the quality any more. What do you think? Are there
parts where a rerecording is badly needed?
Btw, we will release to song for public download on the website shortly.
Thanks for listening,
Arnold

Wenn man mit Raubkopien Bands wie Brosis oder Britney Spears wirklich
verhindern könnte, würde ich mir noch heute einen Stapel Brenner und
einen Sack Rohlinge kaufen.
Hello list :-)
I've just reported success using FXpansion Guru (VST drum machine) through fst .
http://ladspavst.linuxaudio.org/
One minor inconvenience, though, is that the visual timeline does not
move in sync with the beat ; I suppose this is due to the window
repainting very slowly, as can be noticed if I switch focus to an
other workspace, then focus again to Guru.
My question is : what factors do, in your experience, affect repaint
speed? Is there anything that I could do to improve this ? It does not
seem to depend on the window manager (I've tried XFCE and Ion3, which
makes no difference).
Thanks for suggestions :-)
NB1 : VST sux and all, I know, I know ....
NB2 : Funnily, the plugin also works through dssi-vst, but then, no
visual timeline is displayed at all.

Hi!
I'm going to visit LAC this year and have few questions about Berlin.
1. Where it is better to buy a notebook [](webshops are ok, if they
can deliver to the hotel).
I found one webshop, but they do not reply to my requests. The link
also shows the hardware I want:
http://shop.libet.de/product_info.php/info/p2272_HP-nx6325-TL60-15--80GB-10…
1.1 A hard question: can I get a VAT (MwSt.) refund, as a non-EU citizen?
2. How it is better to get to Koeln and back (if it is train, how and
where to buy tickets) and in which weekday?
2.1 How much time will it take?
Thank you,
Dmitry.
hi list,
yesterday i successfully replaced the debian alsa drivers/libs/etc with
the selfcompiled ones, v1.0.14rc3 - and (almost) everything works wonderful!
well, the only thing what does not work as previously is that the
alsamixer settings for my onboard device (intel8x0) are not restored
after a reboot - everything muted!
if i plug the usb interface, the mixer is not muted, but there are some
old settings saved, and if i change the settings, on the next boot they
are not restored too.
plugin the multiface(cardbus) works wery well, since we use the
'hdspmixer' and not the 'alsamixer' for that one.
i am able to store settings with '/usr/sbin/alsactl store 0' (in case,
rme is not pluged in) but when i connect the rme, the onboard sound will
become a number '1' so i can restore with '/usr/sbin/alsactl restore 1'.
for me that means that storing/restoring works with card-name and not
with the card-number.
last night i looked into the alsa wiki, but all hints i found there did
not helped here.
so the question is, is someone out there who speaks a clearly debianeese
and can help me to set this up?
perhaps someone has a good link for reading outside of alsa wiki, since
i think that i have already tried everything i found there!
if i can give you any other useful information, please let me know that.
cheers,
doc
Hi,
i've written a little lo-fi samba tune called "Samba felidae" (lo-fi because
all that was used was my guitar and a shaker and because my microphone isn't
the best). And i think a solo by a non-guitar instrument would be quite nice
on it :)
So if anyone likes the tune and also likes to play a solo over it, please go
ahead..Or if you want to add anything else, go ahead, too :)
Anyways, here's a link:
http://tapas.affenbande.org/samba_felidae.ogg
It goes through the "melody" first for two times, then around 1:20 a full form
is played just with backing chords which leaves space for soloing until 2:04.
After that it goes through the head once again and then some pointless
noodling ;) But feel free to do what you want with it really :)
Changes are:
A:
||Ebmaj7 | |Bbmaj7 | |
|Am7b5 |D7 |Gm7 | |
|Cm7 F7| Dm7 Gm7 |Abmaj7 | |
|D7 | ||
A':
||Ebmaj7 | |Bbmaj7 | |
|Am7b5 |D7 |Gm7 | |
|A7 | |Dsus | |
|E7 | |A7 | ||
Have fun,
Flo

I've made little patch that adds optional command-line parameter to
jack-keyboard for chaning output channel. For example to use channel 10
instead of channel 1 (default), run jack-keyboard with:
jack-keyboard -c 10

1. Anyone had any problems with 2.6.20.* with the patch with internet access
or with freezeups on full screen games not relevant to or running jack?
2. Is there a version for 2.6.18.* kernels? Where to get it?
