Hi there,
This message is actually for the site administrators of linuxaudio.org
It would be really great for us to be able to put all the documentation
and projects that may be useful for the linuxaudio community in an area
under the linuxaudio web site. So we could reach anything easily by
knowing just one address and without lots of bookmarks.
I just put two projects on my own web site but since my site is traffic
limited (I could just pay for it) it seems like it will be locked by the
host soon.
Any alternative ideas are accepted.
Thanks and
Best Regards.
Anyone know where I could buy a used or new Earthworks mic Preamp,
pronto? Any model would be fine: 1021, 1022 or 1024
I can't find them in stock anywhere. Would like a new one, but would
settle for a used one, just need it very soon.
thanks,
brad

Hi List!
Inspired by the great article: "Making great guitar sounds on GNU/Linux" from
Arda Eden (great rig of effects, very good guitar sound, and really well
explained, thanks!), I've been thinking about a problem I have since loooong
ago :)
I have now a good (and 100% free) platform to record/mix great guitar/drums
sounds, which is *almost* everything I need, but I am not able to get a
decent bass sound in Linux yet. Before, when propietary soft was all I
knew ;) I had some VSti or even efects to low down an octave a guitar sound
to simulate a bass (not too nice, but enough if well played and equalized).
So my question is, what do you recomend to get a decent bass sound (appart
from buying a bass, of course ;) is it possible??
I think there are two possibilities:
1) I read Arda Eden uses Hexter DSSI synth, and sound well, but I don't have a
midi controller, and have not experience with Rosegarden (I only use Ardour,
no midi at all). Is there a simple host to DSSI hexter plugin which can be
played/programed with mouse?
2) Any good-quality-FX to convert my analog guitar playing into a bass sound
out there?? (I don't even need real time).
Thanks very much! :)
P.S. You can hear the things I do with my actual system at:

Hey Pedro, you can use my site http://www.linuxstudiopro.com to
compare a bunch of different compatible audio devices.

I use a Roland XV-2020 attached to my computer via a midi cable and
M2496 audio/midi card without any problems. The standard midi stuff
seems to work just fine in linux. However, you bring up an important
issue about the windows/mac software that is used to change parameters
on this type of unit.
I've tried using the Roland XV-Editor software with Wine but it will
not work correctly so am stuck using my work's XP laptop to run this
program when needed. It's not a huge deal for me since I just play
and don't tweak this sort of stuff, but I'm sure it would be annoying
to many others.

Hi friends,
I and a friend of mine made a sample library of a Turkish percussive
instrument called "Asma Davul" for GNU/Linux audio users to use freely.
This library is actually designed for Hydrogen. It's made up of 4 layers and
has real good sound quality.
We guess you'll like it. A demo of me is also included at the link below.
Feel free to use it.

Hi there,
I made a project to show that without using any proprietary software and no
hardware processing, it's possible to create powerful guitar sounds.
Follow the link below to see an article and some examples about the project:

Bye.

hydrogen just creates a foo.gz file. I wonder where am I doing wrong. Haow
can I make a .h2drumkit file ?
