HI!
I've been looking for nice resources of Estonian and Finnish choral music on
the internet, but didn't find much. Does anyone of you know a place, where I
can find such things for free - as in free beer is enough - download.
Kindest regards and sorry for the topic miss :-)

I'd like to control the envelope of one channel's sound using a
different (the side-chain) channel's signal. Is there a way to do
this in Linux? Ideally, the solution would work with Ardour. But,
I'll take what I can get.
Thanks....

Hi,
I am able to record guitar or voice only using my maudio dmp3 with my
maudio audiophile 24/96. Just connect capture one in qjackctl with
ardour...
But how do I capture both channel A (voice) and channel B (guitar)? I
can't capture channel B with for example meterbridge...
Thanks in advance,
~d
I connect a MIDI keyboard from the soundcard with its interface to the MIDI
playing sound card using qjackctl's connection pane. Jackd is not running.
I can play just fine. If I have, say noteedit or mscore running -- I am
composing -- eventually the thing will simply freeze up and there is no
recourse but the reset button. Thank G-d for a journaled file system.
I do not believe the other running program is the problem. It makes it very
difficult to use the MIDI to play the melody and compose. I am not using that
keyboard for note entry.
Anyone else had similar problems? Fixed it?
Salvete,
I'm writing a rather lengthy article for LJ on the general topic of
audio/visual synthesis software. I've written some historical and
technical background and have selected some programs to profile, including:
AVSynthesis
Fluxus
Pd/GEM
Processing
I'd also like to review VeeJay and FreeJ, but neither would compile
cleanly on JAD 1.0, Fortunately I can install VeeJay from the Packman
repo, but I'll keep working on the compile problems with the most recent
versions of that software.
So my quesion is: What have I missed, what other software can Linux
users recommend for audio/visual synthesis ? It doesn't have to be
realtime, btw, but it does have to combine audio and graphics for
potentially simultaneous synthesis of sound and image.
I have also tried some well-known Windows A/V synths, e.g. Resolume and
vvvv. Alas, they didn't fare too well with Wine 1.0, but I'm open to
suggestions for that environment too (i.e. Linux with Wine, *not* native
Windows).

Hi,
I'm trying to have LV2 plugins and hosts work but I'm having problems.
The involved packags (compiled from tarballs) :
- slv2-0.4.5 (because latest 0.5.0 caused zynjacku host to not compile)
- ll-plugins-0.2.0
- lash-0.5.4
- lv2core-2.0
- zyn-1
- zynjacku-1
- lv2dynparam1-1
Running in a Ubuntu 08.04 Linux 2.6.24-19
The problem is that I can't load any ll-plugin with any host (zynjacku
or lv2_jack_host), while zyn-1 does work (only in zynjacku since it
needs specific extensions)
I believe that the clue to the problem is shown in lv2_inspect result
below. Any idea??

Thanks. I want to have a elektr. piano/ keyboard which sounds like a
piano (without the use of a computer). I don't need a whole lot of
sounds (a hammond organ and rhodos sound would be nice)... So I think
that's what youre talking about too. What is the keyboard you have, if I
may ask?

hi all!

<partition size> and <maximum impulse length> -- are these both in frames (i.e. samples)?
thanks!

Hi all,
I got an error when I want to compile AlsaSeq2JackMidi. I get it from :
http://ll-plugins.sourceforge.net/alsaseq2jackmidi.c
Here is the error :
alsaseq2jackmidi.c: Dans la fonction «jack_callback» :
alsaseq2jackmidi.c:81: erreur: trop d'arguments pour la fonction
«jack_midi_clear_buffer»
alsaseq2jackmidi.c:91: erreur: trop d'arguments pour la fonction
«jack_midi_event_reserve»
In english this is something like : "too much arguments for the function"
Is there another alternative to AlsaSeq2JackMidi ?
Best kinds.
