Hi,
You can find a demo version of Metsänpeitto by following this link and
clicking play-button in the player:
http://www.kolumbus.fi/sysimetsa/music.html
It was done entirely with 64 Studio (Ardour, Qsynth, ZynAddSubFx,
Hydrogen, Creox...) Some of the tracks were played with laptop keys
(while traveling in Africa), i have to re-play those some day.
More songs coming soon... Amazing how much fun one can get out of a
laptop, good bunch of Linux audio applications, echo soundcard, one
small mic, earphones and children's 1/8 guitar.
Tapani
hi...
i just wanted to anounce that i finally got round to
do some work on the good old fst.
Fixed most cavaets, included the vestige header.
So this is GPL stuff now. binary packages welcome.
get it via git: git clone git://repo.or.cz/fst.git
the homepage: http://www.joebutton.co.uk/fst/
perhaps some of he info is still valid :S
-----------------------------------------------------------
Its only a matter of make if your on 32bit.
for lash suport:
make -f Makefile.lash
On 64bit you need to have some 32bit libraries:
gtk libs and alsa, perhaps a 32bit lash
you also need to make sure a link ending with .so
exists for each library. there were some problems
with that before.
Also on 64bit jack-0.116.0 is required because fst is
a 32bit client.
i hope for packagers to jump in on this fast.
so that people are not having to wade through 32bit dependency hell.
The current version in git is very likely to become
fst-1.11 (schnaps is better than wine)
Due to the fact that the embeding and gtk bugging is fixed now,
i have a gtk window around the plugin now, where i can put buttons
and stuff. So midi learn and stuff is not far away anymore.
jack-midi is planned, and should show up in the git soon.
But this is orthogonal to the "hunt me down not working plugins"
request.
well... blabla... try to find a plug that does not work !!!

Hi folks....anyone running lv2rack on a debian system?
I installed phat and pyphat from svn, built lv2, zynjacku/zyn, but

which probably explains why I get the error trying to run lv2rack.
Any ideas on a fix, if any?
Also, can banks be loaded into zyn when run from zynjacku?
Thanks

Hello folks!
It pays to stay up late or just not to go to bed. So here's a new one.
Rather depressive in the beginning, but a bit happier towards the end. I had
to sing again. Not too bad though. Two or three passages only, the rest is
quite OK.
Here's the link:
http://juliencoder.de/we_failed.ogg
Enjoy it and I'd be happy for donated feedback. :-)
Kindest regards
Julien

Okay, Ken. This message is to that end.
Greetings LAU. Anyone interested in joining us in an on-line musical

minutes or a full CD's worth of music in the month of February - please
speak now, or forever hold your piece(s).

Hi all,
as requested, my configuration of the el-cheapo hack
I bought 2 sweex 4.1 sound cards (netherlands, 10 euro each)
which are CMI8738 chips, sweex model SC011
they contain 1 chrystal with 2 feet. can't miss it.
I soldered a microphone wire into the two empty holes on the
crystal-stripped card, and soldered the middle wire onto the
crystal equipped card. this is different from the tutorial, but works.
after that, I tested with baudline, and both cards (still) worked.
I'm developing a robot sonar direction finder,
and with sonar, more channels are better.
Thanks for the el-cheapo hack !
(now back to the mess that is called Alsa/Jack. how the <bleep>
can I query/see/confirm that those self made aliases set up in the
~/.asoundrc are actually processed and available ? Jack does not
seem to see them, it sees 2 capture devices where I am endowed with
no less than 4 soundcards, which *are* known to the system)

I noticed the difference in the shuttle motion. I'll compile the kernel
driver for my other systems too and will try it on them. I've built
Ardour3 on my Ubuntu Intrepid box, hopefully the driver will work its
wonders there too.

Here's a little critical feedback: The In/Out buttons are supposed to
zoom in and out (according to the old PDF of the Tranzport layout for
Ardour) but IIRC they set up punch-in/punch-out; the assignment for Save
doesn't work; the assignment for Unmute All doesn't work.
The shuttle works okay for my purposes, but I haven't really used it
much in Ardour. However, now it works so nicely with the Tranzport, I
think I'll use it more often. The Tranzport opens some new ways of
working for me, I'm looking forward to testing it more thoroughly.
I plan to write a profile about the Tranzport for my column, I'll be
sure to point to your work. Thanks again for your labor on this project. :)
Best,
dp
Hi Torben,
Thanks for picking up development again on FST. I built it on my Ubuntu
Intrepid box, tested it with one plugin (DXReverb), and it seems to work
fine. I'll put it through some more serious tests later today when I get
back to my studio.
Wow, maybe we'll soon see a legally redistributable VST-enabled Ardour. :)
Best,
dp

Hey, thanks for the link, Mike. Preliminary tests are very positive, the
Tranzport is working fine on my 64 Studio system with the new driver and
on my OpenSUSE 10.2 box with the libusb driver. Very cool ! :)
I had to do the /dev/tranzport tango before Ardour2 loaded its support
stuff, but after that it seems to work perfectly. Thank you for your
work on this project, let me know if you need a tester for any further
Tranzport code.
Best,
dp
I'm not sure how similar it is, but I have a UA-4fx with an advanced switch
that doesn't work. There is code for a possible patch on the alsa site
here, if that helps.

And maybe becoming a solution here:
