Damn. When I say "balance" I mean "pan" :-)

Hi,
I dunno if ALSA modular has it's own forum?
What do some of these things in the program do? I like this program alot
so far, but I never played with a real Modular system, so I don't know
much about making cool sounds with it. I made a cool wah-wah bass sound
that I saved.
What does quantizer do? I doesn't seem to anything. I can't figure out
how to trigger it either, nothing but Quantizer makes a trigger signal
it seems. I looked at some examples but didn't figure out how it worked.
How do use CVS? What do you put them into?
Can you play it polyphonic? LADSPA says Create Poly, but I don't know
what it does.
Where can I learn to make sounds with a modular synthesizer? I can make
basic sounds so far, but how do I make interesting sounds with it? I do
it mostly by accident so far. I don't know what I'm doing so I just put
wires all over the place. Sometimes it sounds amazingly cool though!
Sometimes it makes the machine blow up (crickle-crackle).
Hi,
Sorry, but I'm tearing out my hair here! :-) I've read quite a lot
about this, but I can't seem to understand/find the answer.
I can record from the Line in of my Live Drive, but I would like to
record _just_ the audio coming in and not any other audio playing on the
system. I would like to hear the backing track though my head phones
and then record through the line in, but the recording always records
everything coming out of my speakers. Is this possible? If so what
mixer settings should I have?
Seeing lots of people producing good music with there SBLive is making
me jealous!! :-)
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Many thanks,
Pete
I've just put up 12 demo tracks that were recorded with Audacity on Linux and
an SB Live. They are mostly first-take recordings with few effects. Not pro
quality by any means, but I think it proves any band could now record demos
using Linux on basic equipment, burn them to CD and make oggs etc.

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone knows of a good program that will solve
algebraic formulas symbolically. I was using Mathematica under Windows
to do this. I need something to solve the equations for bilinear
transform of filters to the digital domain. I can't (don't) have the
patience to work the algebra out by hand (it is not usually trivial,
with large powers of complicated polynomials).
I looked at Octal but it is just a mathematical programming language,
not a symbol solver. Is there any free software which can be programmed
to solve algebraic formulas (like Mathematica) available?
Greetings,
Did anyone succedd to use ALSA drivers for ESS Maestro 1 (es1968)?

I've looked for a Fine Manual on this but no luck:
Jack starts OK with a period size of 512 but with 256 or 128 it seems to
say that the ALSA driver refuses to accept it. Does anyone know, is this
a hardware limitation of the card, or something I can change with a
magic parameter in some configuration file? The card is an old SBLive
Value (the box said something about MP3) and the software is Red Hat 8 /
Planet CCRMA / emu10k1.
If I have understood the Jack documentation correctly, this corresponds
to about a 35 millisecond buffering delay for the round trip of a signal
from the outside world into the computer and back out again. Plus any
time spent processing the signal inside the computer. Not bad, really, I
guess. I wonder what an M-Audio Delta could do?

Hi everyone!!!
here at the University we have an M-Audio delta 1010 for multitrack recording, have anyone tried to make it work on a debian system? and if so, which sound app would be the appropiate for that matter?
thank you very much in advance and greetings from Xalapa Mexico!!!! AJUUUUUUUUUUA!!!!!!!!!
