I have Pianoteq connected to Jack, then to ecasound for dsp into 6
channels, then back thru Jack to rme9652. 64 sample buffers. Should I run
ecasound in slave transport mode to make sure the pipeline runs
efficiently, with Pianoteq supplying a new sample set in lock-step while
the previous one is being processed by ecasound? The details about how all
this is getting done are fascinating, but a little murky in my head...
Thanks,
John

Hello,
This is an improv based on some sound from the Xebra soundset by Corin
Neff for the Zebra2 synthesizer. As I got the update a few days ago,
the first sound I played was the bass sound and the riff that I
played. I liked the sound, so I recorded it. Then I added a few more
synth ambient tracks. I grabbed the guitar and played along. This was
nice but it needed some solo instrument. I found one in Xebra and then
found the other in another Corin Neff soundset, 'Zebra Orchestra'.
Drums and some percussion round up the improvisation. Done in Bitwig
then exported and mixed in Harrison Mixbus32C. Then exported as stereo
track and reloaded in Mixbus32C for 'mastering'. Titled it '123' for
lack of anything else inspiring, as this was the 123th jam.
Synth sounds used:
Bass
ACBass+ Xebra
Ambient
Breathing Sidebands Xebra
Etheral Wind+ Xebra
Sparrows and Frogs+ Xebra
Watery Mallet+ Xebra
Lead
Cosmic Thunder Bell+ Xebra
RTW Slow AG Brass Zebra Orchestra

Cheers.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for the software package containing jack.plumbing. I believe this
also includes jack.play, jack.upd, jack.osc and more. It appears I deleted my
local copy and couldn't find it through google, since I can't remember the
name of the package. A good tip anyone? :)
Best wishes,
Jeanette

When you need someone, you just turn around and I will be there <3
Hi.
Anyone coming to the meeting at c-base today? I'll be there in the
mainhall from 20:00.
One nice thing is that we've been lent a sort of carousel with lots of
Eurorack modulars that we can play with. It's a demo thing from
Schneiders Laden (http://www.schneidersladen.de/en/), if you're
familiar with that.
Hope to see you there!

V 1.5.1 - Jenny Wren
Small and not especially pretty, but brightens up the Spring with sweet song.
HIGHLIGHTS
MIDI-learn has been extended so that you can now learn:
Aftertouch
The pitch wheel (14 bit resolution)
NRPNs (also 14 bit).
There is a 'Settings' option to always open the editing window on a sucessful
'learn'.
Main volume now has interpolation so there is no zipper noise, and part volume
and pan have better interpolation for the same reason.
LFO frequency and depth are now fully dynamic.
A number of actions are now 'soft' in that a fast fade is performed, then the
synth is disabled, the action takes place, and the synth is re-enabled.
The 'Solo' feature now ignores a value of zero if it is in 'Loop' mode. This
means you can use a simple on/off switch control to step through the parts only
when it gets the 'on' value.
More tooltips give real values on hovering. Some also give small graphic
representations.
We have a new splash screen, which also doesn't block anymore. There is now
also a 'Util' directory which has the tools, instructions and examples to
enable you to create a personalised splash.
To build yoshimi fetch the tarball from either:

(once sourceforge sorts itself out again)

Say you have a poem and I have a tune.
Exchange them and we can both have a poem, a tune, and a song.
Hi,
the Wiki [ https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Professional_audio ]
opens with...
"This article or section needs expansion." and a link to the
discussion, but I still don't understand what actually is missing.
...followed by an unrealistic claim about grotesque low latency.
The article included wrong information, I already removed
"If you want to use any MIDI hardware you need to ensure the ALSA MIDI
driver is loaded. You can set the MIDI driver to load at boot by
creating the file /etc/modules-load.d/alsamidi.conf containing:"
IIRC apart from a bug that caused that the driver wasn't loaded, the
driver always gets loaded automatically.
There are claims about rtc, 1000Hz. This was valid, but IMO should be
obsolete now.
Etc., pp. ...
I don't want to rewrite the Wiki, especially because I won't and/or
can't test every hint. Please contribute to the Wiki and/or to the
"This and that" discussion

"Michael" described Floyd as "an idiot savant", and added, "Give him
any two numbers, and he can multiply them in his head, just like that."
Homer, testing Floyd, said, "Five times nine", and Floyd instantly
responded "Forty-five", which impressed Homer.
I thought it about time I started looking at these to get an idea of what's
avaialble, and was rather surprised to find the two nearest seemed to be fully
booked for the conference dates - although admittedly one is right in the city
centre.
I was hoping to find one a reasonable walking distance. Anyone sorted theirs
yet?

Greetings,
No jokes, and nothing else new here, just a repackaging of some pieces
for the Full Tines patch from my old TX802, realized here via Hexter.

1. Prelude
2. Promenade
3. During Rain
All previously released, but this playlist has not been uploaded to
SoundCloud, nor does it have anything to do with cigars, real or
virtual, in this phase space or any other.
Just a little over 9 mellow minutes of late 80s electric piano a la the
DX7II, and that's all.
Best,
