Hi,
I play in a band called Munk!. We're together for 6 months now and we
played at a small jazzfestival in The Netherlands.
Here are 3 live tracks, wav, recorded with a hand recorder. We want to
use it as demo at the moment. The sound quality might be better after
mixing. If you like to do that, don't hesitate! :)
Two jazz standards and one own song.

This summer we will recording some songs at studio Magnetophon
Maastricht, which uses Ardour and other free software.
You can follow us at twitter if you like:

Best regards,

I've been unable to reach http://lam.fugal.net for at least a week now (could be
longer).
I sent Hans an e-mail but so far have had no reply - this is in itself unusual.
Anyone know what the problem is?
It's weird. All I get is a blank page with a single line of text:
"Keep track of Hen-Wen."

Hi,
I'm happy to share with you a new beta release of io GNU/Linux, a complete
multimedia workstation based on Debian SID and built with the great Debian-
Live tools.
It includes programs for most uses, with Enlightenment e17+ecomorph as window
manager, Jack2 and Ladish, etc...
This build doesn't include documentation / getting started... Will be part of
a future iso.
Feedbacks welcome, enjoy :)

Most envy24 chipsets use the same reg as clock speed. So on that picture
there is a "Multi Track internal Clock" - "48000" if it is expanded the
external clock will be above 96000 (if that is the top speed).

That is different from the Delta series then. Good to know. Though that
could be a SW limit and not HW, but I would guess in this case it is HW.
While it makes sense to lock to spdif to use it, there are cases where the
spdif input may be locked to this card from it's spdif output for example,
where not using spdif clock, but still using the info makes sense.

Sorry this is a bit OT, I don't know whom else to ask.
I belong to a martial arts community which produces videos of guest
teachers when we host a seminar. We used to use a lavalier mic on the
teacher's chest. For reasons I don't understand, that practice was
stopped, and the mic was moved to the high ceiling rafter, where it picks
up the whole room. The result is that some of the most revered figures in
our art have had their words lost in the background noise. If I can't
convince those in charge to use the lavalier mic as it's designed to be
used, would a camera-mounted shotgun mic do better? Any suggestions as to
model? Any other suggestions for micing a moving subject 30 feet or so from
a wall-mounted camera?
I will try to get more particulars about the setup. I have noticed 2 XLR
connectors on the camera which are not used. The mic and the camera are fed
separately into the computer, I don't know what happens from there.
Probably uses Final Cut Pro.
Thanks,
Paul

Have you tried using the front ports with the scanner unplugged? Could be
the scanner doesn't play well with it. Or it could be the front ports use
irq16 along with the video card, other usb, and whatever. Could be the
back usb is usb2.0 and the front are not (unlikely I would think).
dmesg |tail should tell you about usb 2.0 and cat /proc/interrupts should
tell you what irq the usb port dmesg tels you about is using (and what
else is on that irq too).

Thank you very much for your precious suggestions Carlos!
I'll definitely go for it and i will give it a try!
Please keep posted about any of your/our experimentations about this here!
I have also an arduino uno and i'd like to build some drum
machine/controller by my own with some piezos...i'm totally a beginner
with this but i'm very interested...:-)

Where is the clock select in that picture?
If you look on page 18 of the card manual showing the (Windows?) utility
for controlling the card, there is a selection box to set using the
internal or external clock. To use the S/PDIF input you must select
external clock.
