does anyone know of a sonic visualiser with a text-based programming language?
I'm not familiar with the territory at all. I'd like to create more
interesting visuals for my Youtube material. Since I'm (almost) blind, I'd
like to create visuals from the music itself, with a certain degree of
algorithmic magic, I suppose, but with some control through a simple,
dedicated programming interface. Think something like the Csound language or
POV-Ray. It could be based on pure audio or with additional support for MIDI.
If it's not too complicated and well-defined (well described) I'd be happy to
use something with no direct linkage to audio.
The languages and paradigms I know are c/c++, Csound, bash scripting, POV-Ray
and html. I would prefer something which is not a library in a programming
language, so I didn't have to write a whole program around it.
Given these rough ideas, does anything spring to mind? Graphic patterns as
such don't mean that much to me, since they'd mostly be to delicate to see for
me. I personally set a lot of stock by colours though.

XUiDesigner v0.7 released
A easy to use tool to generator/design X11 based LV2 plugins.
Beside that XUiDesigner allow to generate and install GUI's for existing
LV2 plugins, it support as well to generate LV2 plugins from scratch.
Special support is implemented for FAUST dsp files, which allow you to
generate a LV2 plugin with X11 based UI by just drag'n'drop a FAUST dsp
file into the XUiDesigner interface. This works now as well for MIDI
capable faust modules.
In any way, you don't need to interference with any of the annoying LV2
implementations. XUiDesigner handle that all for you.
The very same is true when you like to implement your own dsp (C or C++)
into a LV2 plugin. You could create the GUI interface, save the plugin
bundle, and implement the needed calls to init, activate and run your dsp.
This release comes with a couple of Bug-fixes and aims to be nearly stable.

Recorded on last Wednesday and Thursday, I felt unsure about the title and so
took a break by going to the BBC radio websiite, where I saw the news about
the death of queen Elizabeth. It felt right to dedicate the music to the
occasion, after all it takes some of its biggest inheritance from a British
band.
Instruments used: DrumGizmo with the aasimonster2 kit, purposefully processed
to get that unasuming old sound, a free Rickerbecker bass SFZ, probably from
the No Budget Band project, the free Gigatron Mellotron library, setBfree and
a commercial grand piano and Rhodes library. The synth line is courtesey of
the Behringer Neutron.
It's good to be back, even with such a sad song, after the long summer break.

DrumGizmo 0.9.20 Released!
DrumGizmo is an open source, multichannel, multilayered, cross-platform
drum plugin and stand-alone application. It enables you to compose drums
in midi and mix them with a multichannel approach. It is comparable to
that of mixing a real drumkit that has been recorded with a multimic setup.
This release was originally intended as a bugfix release, but quite a
few features also managed to find their way in.
Noteworthy bugs that has been fixed:
* Software regression error in cymbal choke code has been fixed. So
now choking of cymbals using both directed chokes and after-touch midi
events work again as expected.
* A compilation error due to an update in LV2 API (we used an
obsolete LV2 type) has been fixed, so now compilation should work for
everybody again.
* Code can now properly be compiled with NSL support disabled at
configure time.
* Compilation with the modern gcc-11 compiler has been fixed.

I'm a disabled musician who plays keys with one hand. I'm looking for ways to enhance my playing. I've written some hacky stuff in python (using http://chordrecognizer.sourceforge.net/) and a standalone c piece for arduino that can recognise a chord and spit out a root note in a lower octave. It works but it could be improved.
The next thing I would like to accomplish is to re-voice a triad over a few octaves, for example move the middle note up an octave.
I guess it would involve some kind of array and timing function or I could send different notes out to pre transposed synths and be meticulous in my playing techniques to make sure the notes are well ordered.
I have tried mididings but the project seems slightly abandoned and the relevant module VoiceFliter doesn't seem to function the way I expect in the version I have
I was asking Robin about his x42 plugins and he said there were some users on this list who have come up with some creative solutions for augmenting their playing.
I'd love to hear what people have come up with to get some ideas.
I apologise for the over all nebulous nature of this. I'm still working on defining the tasks that I think could help me musically.

Hi folks,
Honestly hope I ask for what I need clearly.
I understand that there are some music programs that a low one to play
notes, using their computer keyboard.
Although I do not use Linux, Wondering, assuming I am correct of
course, if anyone knows of a mac option for this?
