Dear all, First of all a happy 2020 (even though it's way past Epiphany)! So what's the fresh start about? Well, registration of the linuxaudio.org domain has been handed over to yours truly so if you need any DNS changes regarding any linuxaudio.org subdomains then I can take care of that now directly. Thanks Daniel James of 64 Studio for taking care of the domain for so long! Other part of the fresh start is that I migrated the web server to a new cloud region which is faster and more performant. I just changed all the DNS records so if you spot anything weird that just worked before then please let me know! The mail server will follow this weekend so if mail seems a bit flaky the coming weekend then you know what might cause it. Best regards, Jeremy

New B.Choppr LV2 plugin

Hello, the first official version of the new LV2 plugin B.Choppr is just released. B.Choppr is an audio stream chopping LV2 plugin. It cuts the audio input stream into a repeated sequence of up to 16 chops which can be individually leveled. B.Choppr is the official successor of B.Slizr. Release XPolyMonk.lv2 v0.5

This is the initial release of XPolyMonk.lv2, a polyphonic version of Xmonk.lv2. XPolyMonk comes with 12 voices, full midi support and a integrated virtual keyboard. ICAD 2020 :: Call for Papers

** *(Apologies for cross-postings)* * ICAD 2020 Call for Submission of Papers, Extended Abstracts, Workshops, and Tutorials 26th International Conference on Auditory Display University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA June 7-11, 2020 THEME: “SAFE AND SOUND” Sound is used in a wide variety of applications to alert listeners to the status of a person or environment. At ICAD 2020, we want to highlight sonification work that is used to maintain awareness in some capacity (outside navigation, hospitals, air traffic control, etc). Papers are not limited to this theme, as we will value and embrace all types of submissions, including papers, posters, multimedia (videos/audios), demos, and concert pieces. First held in 1992, ICAD is a highly interdisciplinary academic conference with relevance to researchers, practitioners, musicians, and students interested in the design of sounds to support tasks, improve performance, guide decisions, augment awareness, and enhance experiences. It is unique in its singular focus on auditory displays and the array of perception, technology, and application areas that this encompasses. Like its predecessors, ICAD 2020 will be a single-track conference, open to all, with no membership or affiliation requirements. ICAD 2020, the 26th International Conference on Auditory Display, will be held at the University of Florida, June 7 to 11, 2020. The graduate student ThinkTank (doctoral consortium) will be held on Sunday, June 7, before the main conference. PAPERS AND EXTENDED ABSTRACTS The ICAD 2020 committee is seeking papers and extended abstracts that will contribute to knowledge of how sonification can support awareness in various contexts. WORKSHOPS AND TUTORIALS ICAD workshops and tutorials provide in-depth opportunities for conference attendees to discuss and explore important aspects of the field of auditory display with like-minded researchers and practitioners. Yoshimi V 1.6.1

Now out! For ALSA MIDI there is a search mode where Yoshimi will connect to every readable source it can find. There has been a correction to Scales note and frequency allocation terminology. The mixer panel format can now be changed from Yoshimi->Settings. The CLI has additional controls, particularly in banks and roots management. Other stuff. We've had to do an update to allow for the change in the MXML API. Dots and dashes in grids are now solid lines. They render much faster. Session/State/Config managment is now unified. More system settings can be changed by these files as Yoshimi instances start. The Advanced User Manual has been significantly updated. The stable version of fluidsynth 2.1 has been released, featuring a new reverb engine, stereophonic chorus, support for DLS, and more.
