HI !
Here is my lastest release of Free Music Instrument Tuner
* add translations support
* add volume history in the error graph
(* keep my build process (YAMakefile))
I'm looking for bug trackers ;) and translators (as you can think, there is
not a lot of work for a so small program)

Here's a recording of a live studio performance, performed using Pd and
recorded by Ardour. It's much more in the experimental vein than most of
the postings thus far. The latency dropouts through JACK could have
obviously been fixed very easily, but I think they add a nice dimension.

Has anyone been using this app and if so, have you been able to use it
with jack? It says it has jack support on the home page but I have not
been able to get it working.

I think not. In Motif, I can't find a way to change the Text widget's
cursor color. In Gtk, I would have thought you could put something like
GtkTextView::cursor-color = "red"
in the gtkrc file, but it seems to be ignored. (The other Snd
cursors can change color because I draw them myself, but the various
text widget cursors are managed by the widgets themselves)
Hello Everybody
I have a lot of text documents that I wish to output into speech
audio. Firstly I wanted to know if there is any software that would
allow one to do this. This could be likened to an educational tool
of sorts that reads a file.
Secondly I was hoping to change the output of audio by the
actual content of the text/html page. The actual reading of text
would be at quite a speed (not necessarily comprehendible) but
in essence the content itself would create the music - according
to an adjustable tempo/spec? Maybe each letter could represent
a music note?
I am not sure if this makes sense but if possible I would like to
hear if there are any comments?
MAny thanks for your time and have a good week!
CheersRegards
Mark

This is slightly OT.
I'm looking for articles, papers, books etc on the relationship between
frequency and pitch, epecially as it's related to the perception of
consonance (ratios and just intonation), and the evolutionary forces
driving the configuration of human hearing (speech, environmental
sounds).
Big topic, I know. Any leads much appreciated.
thanks
John

Ruccas.org, a site for unconventional computer and electronic art which
features over 30 artists, has just relaunched in a new, open format.
Taking the form of a "wiki", artists can add their own pages to the
site in order to share their work without any prior permission or
registration. Ruccas.org offers free hosting of audio, video, software,
and whatever else the artists wish to share. As ruccas.org is a wiki,
artists can also collaboratively edit and build a network of pages to
document the aspects of the fields they work in, softwares they use, et
cetera.
Ruccas.org welcomes contributions from those working with generative
and algorithmic techniques, databending and circuitbending, net art,
robotics, and any other "unconventional" form of electronic or computer
art. Of course, everyone is welcome to simply visit the site and
download some free artwork, all of which is licensed under a Creative
Commons license or placed in the public domain.
With its new format and growing community, I am hopeful that ruccas.org
will become a fixture in the world of computer and electronic art in
the years ahead.

I am getting the following message on my system.
<4>ALSA sound/pci/rme9652/hdsp.c:5074: card initialization pending :
waiting for firmware
The question is how do I get the firmware uploaded the Multiface I/O breakout?
ALSA Version is as follows
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.4.
Compiled on Oct 14 2004 for kernel 2.6.5-7.111-default.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
Thank

Very nice. You might want to try to turn down the reverb on the piano a bit so that it has more of a crisp sound to it. (or turn down the synth. I can't tell if what I'm hearing is reverb on the piano or if you you have a pad syth playing the same thing as the piano) This will be crucial if you apply any type of compressing in the mastering stage because you might start to loose definition on the piano. Just a suggestion. Otherwise very well done. :-)
