Hi,
I am not sure if this helps you, but I successfully compiled a 2.6.26.8
vanilla kernel (from kernel.org) patched with 2.6.26.8-rt16 three days ago.
The .config I took from my generic Debian 2.6.26-1-686 kernel (the
current lenny standard kernel), which I then edited with 'make
menuconfig' to include the necessary options as specified in the
rt-patch howto.
I did not bother about 'make oldconfig', and it seems I got away with
it, but not knowing where _your_ .config came from originally, I am
guessing that this might be useful for you to try as well?
best,
flo.H

Add the following repo (from hardy) and select the 2.6.24-22rt kernel, modules etc., works fine in intrepid.
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy-updates main universe

Use Audacity
Cut and paste your regions into separate tracks.
Select the region you want to export and then use "Export Selection"
You can even do this straight to mp3.

I haven't used SuperCollider in a long while, and I don't own a Monome, but for those who do, this looks like it could result in some Linux goodness:

Hi all,
I'm trying to set up my Phonic Helix Board 24 on Fedora 10. I've added
the CCRMA repository but I'm *not* running a CCMRA kernel. I have just
used this repository to install ffado and jack.
[jonathan@poseidon ~]$ uname -r
2.6.27.12-170.2.5.fc10.i686.PAE
[jonathan@poseidon ~]$ rpm -q ffado
ffado-2.0-0.6.rc1.fc10.ccrma.i386
Starting jack gives the output below. Running as root gives exactly the same output. I've made sure that all users have read/write permissions on the firewire port (chmod a+rw /dev/fw*)
I'm a fairly experienced Linux user but I know very little about audio on Linux. Can anyone shed any light on this? I had the same Phonic device working on Fedora 8 some time ago but that computer is now a distant memory...
Any help will be gratefully accepted!
Thanks,
Jonathan

Hi List
I'm on the "compile yourself a kernel track" once again. Last time I ran
out of luck, but now after Debian Lenny became official stable I'd thougth
I'll give it one more try, but I'm running into problem when it comes to
buil the kernel with the make-kpkg tool after loading in the old saved
.config with menuconfig and rt adjustments done, the following error
message comes up:
***************************************************

One again I must apologize for the Danish language version of my system ;)
I run the make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version=-rt**** as root, what
else can I do, should I try a different kernel version ?
Best regards

Thanks Ray, I tried aqualung, I like it a bit, but it still doesn't play
these files. When i try to load one, it says "flac_decoder_open: FLAC file
with 6 channels is unsupported."
However, i've been able to play that same file in kmplayer (using mplayer)
just a few times. I'll start playing it, let it finish or go to another track
and then when i try to play it again i get nothing or static. Playing a
normal 16-bit/44.1 track works fine. Then i'll try it again a few days later
and, no problem, but i only get a few plays from this album.
Any ideas folks?

Frank my brother, why doeth thou encourrage laughter? :-)
Nice seeing it that way. I really doesn't look too bad.
Would you do us the honour of playing some bass for the pieces soon, as our
bassist seems to be suffering from a huge workload. And I wonder about the
drums...
Sorry if this sounds like the old vulture sitting there and looking
accusingly over his nose, be assured it isn't meant that way. It's just, that
I'm seeing the progress we have made and the point in time we have reached and
I feel, that these matters remain to be done and then we could call Jack and
Jill and Eca's Sound ready for mixing. and that would be really cool.
Kindest regards
Julien
