Hi,
I'm compiling the 2010 mix at the moment. Unfortunately I lost a few
months worth of data between Jan - May. If you released a track during
that time and you would like it to be considered for the 2010 mix please
send me a link so I can download it again.
Also if you have unreleased tracks or tracks that are not easily
downloaded then I may have missed them. So feel free to shoot me a direct
link if you want to get them into the official mix.
The past couple of years I ended up with about 40 tracks that made the
cut. It would be nice to have even more this year.
There is no discrimination on genre/content. The criteria is if it sounds
good and/or represents an original or unique idea compared to the rest of
the tracks in the final mix.
All the tracks are hosted on djcj.orghttp://djcj.org/audio/lam/
and we even have an icecast stream at linuxaudio.org which Robin Gareus
setup last year.

Cheers.

Dear all,
More than a month overdue... It's getting busier at work (we're in the
middle of a reorganization) and also I've spent quite some time on
making music. And LAC2011 is coming closer, I'm going to do two
workshops so I had to prepare my abstracts. Hope you have a nice read
anyway, next time I'll try to publish the round-up a bit earlier (well,
have to hurry up then already...).

Hi,
after a successful build of ingen I am not able to find any LADSPA
plugin. What should I do to see them? The LV2 plugins are properly listed.
BTW, I was unable to compile the current svn version of ingen due to
conflicts with sord. The svn from march 1st was compilable (also sord &
slv2 from 2011-03-01).

also, curious why you used Qtractor instead of Ardour?
are there params that aren't not able to be controlled in Ardour?
Hi everyone,
I am trying to configure a card "echo Audiofire 4 " and I'm having some
troubles
When I start ffado-dbus-server says that it works correctly, but gives no extra
information about how its working.
When I start qjackctl with firewire settings and I look for connections, are
not audio outputs, it only shows me audio inputs[1].
When I try to start mplayer with jack support it give me a connection error
with Jack.
I leave the qjackctl settings [2]
Thanks a lot.

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen (and btw, musicians too),
I'm helping with a party for Chuck Leonard on April 3 at Marsh Woodwinds,
707 N Person St Raleigh, NC. Chuck is a drummer extraordinaire who has lung
cancer, liver cancer, and brain cancer. I personally thought he was near
death from the sound of it, but he seems to be in pretty good shape today.
No promise for later, though.
At first, we were going to do a benefit and try to raise some money to pay
his medical (and probably burial) expenses, but he mainly wanted to do a
party for his friends so he could tell him that he loved them. He said
that this raising money stuff was starting to feel like hustling his
friends. We both talked about the fact that the music really comes from
somewhere else and we are just a conduit. He agreed and said that the
drums really played him; he wasn't really playing the drums.
This is going to be a giant jam session lasting around 4 hours. I'm trying
to get someone local to do the capture into 16 or 32 tracks, but I
definitely would like some help with Post and planning for what needs to be
done.
Let me know if you are interested in participating somehow and what we need
to do to enable you to take part.

I got one of Chuck playing with the other guy who's organizing this, Robert

Hi all,
"Les 'colles' de Bach - The Bach's School (You've got me, there)"
is the full version of Bach's Chorales transcribed
(Under Free Art License) for GNU Solfege 3.19.4
This transcription is especially for music students,
or classes of Solfege - Harmony - Counterpoint.
You first need to install the 3.19.4 and read the LISEZ-MOI-README
either on site or in the zip package.

Be happy.

Arnold, having heard some of your music I'd say that you should use the
Cageian strategy you suggested on *all* of your work! ;) (just having
fun as you suggested)
Hey again,
Day before yesterday I decided to give gx_head a whirl to see whether it
would be accessible under orca and was pleased to find out that it
mostly is. (orca is a screen-reader, btw) I had a lot of fun playing and
jamming around. There is only one problem: while the buttons and sliders
are recognised as such, most of them are not labelled, requiring one to
"prod and find out" which by and large isn't too difficult.
Pre/post-gain and bass/mid/trebble aren't too hard to guess, and I guess
I found the selector that changes cab simulation, but I'd still like it
if anyone could walk me through the various selectors/sliders,
especially for the effects, and tell me what they are. Also, I was
wondering whether it might be considered for future releases to
associate a text label with each GUI slider/button/etc.
BTW, has anybody found a good clean setting with gx_head? I could get
plenty of lovely crunch and grit, but didn't have much success in the
clean department.
Cheers,
S.M.
