It is my pleasure to announce latest version a.k.a. stable candidate of
pd-l2ork. Having chased down a couple of lingering and extremely sporadic
bugs, I am pleased to report that this latest version is our first "beta"
release with the primary focus on ensuring 100% stable experience. The
latest version also includes updates to the K12 module which now includes
over 40 unique abstractions. As usual, for additional info as well as both
32-bit and 64-bit Linux builds please visit
http://l2ork.music.vt.edu/main/?page_id=56
I would also like to use this opportunity to extend an invitation to
community members who may be interested in helping us improve the
documentation, as well as porting our efforts to other platforms to please
contact me and/or consider joining our l2ork-dev mailing list that can be
found at http://disis.music.vt.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/l2ork-dev

Changes:
RDMonitor Module. A persistent desktop applet has been added that
continuously monitors the health of the system and alerts the operator
in the event of any detected problems. See 'RDMONITOR.txt' for usage
and configuration info.
Sage Digital ENDEC Control. A 'sage_endec_rwt.sh' script has been
added that allows a Required Weekly Test (RWT) to be executed on a
Sage Digital ENDEC via TCP/IP. See 'SAGE_ENDEC.txt' for usage and
configuration info.
Cut Attribute Searching. The cart filter will now include the
attributes of underlying cuts when searching the library.
RDCheckCuts Utility. An rdcheckcuts(1) command-line utility has
been added for checking the integrity of the audio store.
Multiple bug fixes. See the ChangeLog for details.
Database Update:
This version of Rivendell uses database schema version 207, and will
automatically upgrade any earlier versions. To see the current schema
version prior to upgrade, see RDAdmin->SystemInfo.
As always, be sure to run RDAdmin immediately after upgrading to allow
any necessary changes to the database schema to be applied.

We are happy to announce the next issue of the Linux Audio Conference
(LAC), May 9-12, 2013 @ IEM, the Institute of Electronic Music and
Acoustics, in Graz, Austria.
The Linux Audio Conference is an international conference that brings
together musicians, sound artists, software developers and researchers,
working with Linux as an open, stable, professional platform for audio
and media research and music production. LAC includes paper sessions,
workshops, and a diverse program of electronic music.
*Call for Papers, Workshops, Music and Installations*
We invite submissions of papers addressing all areas of audio processing
and media creation based on Linux. Papers can focus on technical,
artistic and scientific issues and should target developers or users. In
our call for music, we are looking for works that have been produced or
composed entirely/mostly using Linux.
The online submission of papers, workshops, music and installations is
now open at
http://lac.iem.at/
The Deadline for all submissions is February 4th, 2013 (23:59 HAST)
You are invited to register for participation on our conference website.
There you will find up-to-date instructions, as well as important
information about dates, travel, lodging, and so on.
This year's conference is hosted by IEM, Graz, in cooperation with local
artists and FLOSS enthusiasts.
The Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) at the University
of Music and Performing Arts Graz is considered Austria's leading
institution in computer music, acoustics and audio engineering and has
gained international reputation for its research on spatial audio and
its artistic production and research.
IEM has been embracing Linux audio as a production and research
environment since the mid-1990s, and has contributed to FLOSS/Linux
projects, amongst others by providing drivers for multichannel audio
interfaces and hosting the Pure Data community portal and mailing lists.
http://iem.at/
We look forward to seeing you in Graz in May!
Sincerely,
The LAC 2013 Organizing Team

Jalv 1.2.0 is out. Jalv is a simple but fully featured LV2 host for
Jack. It runs LV2 plugins and exposes their ports as Jack ports,
essentially making any LV2 plugin function as a Jack application.
This release makes several improvements, upgrading is recommended.
Download and more available at http://drobilla.net/software/jalv/
Changes:
* Tune UI update rate and ring size based on JACK rate and MIDI buffer
size to handle the handle the maximum message rate the plugin can
send.
* Support lv2:sampleRate control ports.
* Tolerate loading presets with port values that aren’t xsd:decimal
* Notify plugins of Jack transport changes by sending events
(an atom:Blank with properties from the LV2 time extension)
* Refuse to instantiate plugins which require unsupported features
* Support LV2 buf-size extension (with all features)
* Add Gtk3 UI
* Port to MinGW
* Fix Jack Session support
Enjoy,
-dr
LV2 1.2.0 is out.
This release adds three new extensions:
* options, a generic mechanism for hosts to pass options to plugins at
instantiation time (and optionally get/set them later)
* buf-size, which allows hosts to provide block length and buffer size
information to plugins (via options), and plugins to to require
restrictions such as fixed and/or power of 2 block lengths
* morph, which allows port types to be changed dynamically, with
backwards compatibility (e.g. control ports can optionally be used as
CV ports in hosts aware of this extension)
There are also many improvements to the existing specifications.
Complete list of changes:
* Use stricter datatype definitions conformant with the XSD and OWL
specifications for better validation.
* Move all project metadata for extensions (e.g. change log) to
separate files to spare hosts from loading them during discovery.
* lv2core: Use consistent label style.
* atom: Fix lv2_atom_object_next() on 32-bit platforms.
* atom: Fix outdated documentation in forge.h.
* atom: Add lv2_atom_object_body_get().
* atom: Add LV2_ATOM_CONTENTS_CONST and LV2_ATOM_BODY_CONST.
* atom: Fix implicit conversions in forge.h that are invalid in C++11.
* atom: Use consistent label style.
* buf-size: Initial release.
* dynmanifest: Use consistent label style.
* event: Use consistent label style.
* event: Use more precise domain and range for EventPort properties.
* event: Remove asserts from event-helper.h.
* event: Make event iterator gracefully handle optional ports.
* midi: Add C definitions for message types and standard controllers.
* midi: Remove non-standard midi:Tick message type.
* midi: Add midi:binding and midi:channel predicates.
* midi: Use consistent label style.
* midi: Add midi:HexByte datatype for status bytes and masks.
* midi: Fix definition of SystemExclusive status byte.
* morph: Initial release.
* options: Initial release.
* parameters: Add parameters.h of URI defines for convenience.
* parameters: Use consistent label style.
* parameters: Add param:sampleRate.
* port-groups: Use consistent label style.
* port-props: Use consistent label style.
* presets: Use consistent label style.
* resize-port: Initial release.
* state: Use consistent label style.
* time: Use consistent label style.
* urid: Fix typo in urid:unmap documentation.
This release is backwards compatible with LV2 1.0.0, though updating is
recommended.
Enjoy,
-dr

* add sse4a (CPU optimization) to wscript
* add treble booster unit
* set osc buffer-size menu to sensitive false when jack buffer
