Hi guys,
I'm running a system based on PlanetCCRMA FC1 2.4.26 kernel, with 2 Terratec
EWS88D and 1 Terratec EWS88MT installed.
This system is connected to a source which is capable of sending audio data
on 3 stereo s/pdif coaxial cables, wich are plugged into s/pdif coax inputs
of my 3 cards.
The three s/pdif cables should be synched: in fact the s/pdif transmitter is
only one for all 3 s/pdif outs on the source.
Now I use this system for real time convolution running BruteFir: everything
runs fine while I use only one card, but when I run convolution on more than
1 card I got some "clicks" on output.
These "clicks" are often releated to not clock synched cards, but they
should be synched: they are setted to get sync signal on s/pdif input.
EWS cards allow to set a master card and up to 3 slave cards, where slave
cards get sync signal from the master card: unluckily this is not possible
under Linux, but only under windows.
So I was wondering if someone could give a hint to try to solve the problem
before I keep the solder in my hand and try to follow this guide:

Thanks!
Michele
Has anybody had problems with FluidSynth lately? I think the midi
portion is working correctly, but the audio output is spewing a bunch of
NAN garbage.

Hi everyone-
I have vstserver working, but I'm trying to get ladspavst to compile. Here's

Any ideas?

Hi,
this release adds another dependency: libDSP 5.0.1. This version of
libDSP provides an optimized complex multiply-add which drops dsp usage
for a 1 sec stereo IR from 14 to 11% on my 1.2 ghz athlon (133mhz sdram)
at a jack periodsize (= partition size) of 2048 frames..
grab it at:

Hi,
I know Terratec Phase 88 is supported under linux, with the ice1712
driver. However, I own the Phase 88 RACK (you know, the large breakout
box), and I can't make it work.
I have tried compiling my own kernel, i've tried Genkernel (i use gentoo
currently), DeMuDi and Suse. They all detected the card and said
averything was ok, but the breakout box never powered up (yes, i've
checked that it's plugged in, it works under winXP).
All help would be appreciated.

If you are into improvisation, you might try FreeWheeling. Though it's more of
a performance environment than a composition environment, it gives you
immediate audio feedback and the ability to easily play and layer loops
without needing mouse & visuals. As you improvise, you can stream your mix out
with time markers for later editing, and you can (auto) save the individual
loops you create too.
Like Marv, I do much of my music work with my hands off the mouse and eyes off
the monitor, so this thread is interesting for me.

Hi all!
After searching the web, I couldn't find any software that could connect
2 (or more) computers (through jack would be kind of perfect!). Well, I
got only one yet but I plan to get a laptop soon and it would be good if
could use both at the same time.
Any of you have heard of a soft like that on GNU/Linux?
Thank's in advance!

Hi,
sc88sysex is a command-line program to send and receive system exclusive data
to/from a Roland SC-88 device using ALSA raw MIDI ports. This program is a
Bash script front-end to the ALSA amidi(1) utility.
Roland uses two types of System Exclusive messages: RQ1 (data request 1) and
DT1 (data set 1). This program can build both types calculating check-sums,
and has some mnemonic symbols for addresses, sizes and commands. It can be
used or extended for other Roland and GS devices with few changes.
http://perso.wanadoo.es/plcl/misc/sc88sysex-0.1.tar.gz
Examples:
$ sc88sysex -a BULKDUMP -z ALL
Sends a bulk dump request using the default MIDI port to the
SC-88, and stores the received data in a file named
"sc88_bulkdump_all.syx"
$ sc88sysex -c GSRESET
Sends a GS reset command to the SC-88
$ sc88sysex -s dump.syx
Sends a data file "dump.syx" to the SC-88.
$ sc88sysex -a '40 00 00' -z '00 00 04' -r deftune.syx
Gets the master tune parameter from the SC-88 saving it on a
file named "deftune.syx"

I thought it would be right to tell you that Leandro Monk and I (well,
actually Leandro did the job) have created an spanish-LAU, LAU-es. The
idea is to create a space for not-english-speakers LAUs, and in that
way, become a bigger community.
The url for becoming a member of the list is
https://listas.linux.org.ar/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/lau-es , and it
would be great if you know a LAU who speaks spanish to suscribe to it!
I would also like in the future to create a portal too (and of course,
link it to the original LAU).
Also with some members of the BBlug (www.bblinux.org) are translating
Christoph Eckert's videos to spanish.
