Hi
I'd like to be able to restore a complex scenario of multiple softsynths
running and midi and audio routed between them and baybe a sequencer and
some jack fx. Is there a best way to do this? If not I imagined just
writing a bash script for each song that starts and connects everything.
I know and use aconnect from bash. I also managed to have my hardware
showup at the same alsa client number, but it seems that whatever synth
I start first it shows up as client 129. Can this be fixated or should I
poke in /proc/ to find what's where.
Same with jack, although here I don't know what to supply for src_port
and dest_port for jack_connect (I guess that's what I'll be using).
Thanks in advance for any help...

hi all ...
i'm trying to run the closed-source nvidia kernel module with a realtime
preemption kernel.
but starting the x server, the screen remains blank ... dmesg says:
NVRM: Trying to sleep during raised irql!!
NVRM: are we holding a lock?
NVRM: skipping os_delay
is this a known issue? are there any workarounds?
thanks in advance ... tim

This file only has commented lines of documentation. So to set this up in this
manner I would need to add a line for "realtime" or such for UID=29 (audio).
audio <hard|soft> realtime ??
realtime is not listed as one of the items. There in an mlock <memlock>
associated with it in its startup script.

Edit the paths at the top of the file "make_qmidiroute" to fit your
installation and compile it using this command:
$ make -f make_qmidiroute
There is not a target to install the program, simply copy qmidiroute to your
/usr/local/bin directory.

Hi
Is there a way of starting Ardour from Jamin or Jack, can jack control them?
I keep having to go between Ardour and jamin on my 17" monitor,
Just wondering if I'm missing something.

Hi,
Just to let you know and leave me with some peace of mind for the coming
summer holidays, here's what:
QjackCtl 0.2.18 has been released, where a couple of sloppy bugs have been
fixed.
Taken from the rather minimal changelog for this one:
- A freezing and endless loop condition on the patchbay socket item
duplication (copy) has been fixed.
- Fixed output disability when messages limit option is turned off
(thanks again to Wolfgang Woehl for spotting this one).
Right. You can grab it from the usual original place(s):
http://qjackctl.sourceforge.nethttp://sourceforge.net/projects/qjackctl
Enjoy.

Hi,
I'm developing an audio capture program for the RME Hammerfall, but I always
get a lot of xruns even with big buffer size.
my kernel version is 2.6.5-7.104-smp, alsa version is 1.0.3 and JACK is
0.94.0
I have activated alsa tracing in /var/log/messages and I always get the same
report:

Hi Steve,
I really like this piece - I've listened to it quite a few times. Do you
have a score or midi file available? I'd like to play it myself - I'm
always looking for new pieces for piano recitals & other concerts.
I am currently working on some new piano pieces myself, mostly freely
composed, apart from a project I'm involved with at the CN Fractal Music
Forum at Yahoo Groups.
I shall be recording a lot of piano music as soon as time permits.
Best wishes,
Gavin.
